A very nice article, great job. I can relate in several different ways.

I live in the Great Northwest and am a fan of not only the Spurs but the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland Raiders as well. I have been a fan of these teams longer than all of this technology has been around, but I must say it is very nice to have access to a site like this one where I can share my thoughts on the team I love with other fans. I also have the NBA league pass so I get to watch all of the games I would otherwise miss.

As for team loyalty, it is no longer a matter of choice. Silver and Black is running through my blood and I am living in Red Sox Nation. In fact I even tried to disown the Red Sox after years of frustration. I just wanted to become a Mariners fan like everyone else around here, but I just couldn't do it I couldn't abandon the team I had followed for so many years. Thankfully it all paid off and they spanked the Yankees and won the World Series. Hopefully it will never happen but if some day the Spurs really stink, I can assure you I will be right there watching all the losses. Rooting just as hard and complaining a lot more.

As for player loyalty the story is a little different. I guess if a player leaves on decent (not perfect) terms and him leaving doesn't have a major negative effect on my team I will still like the player. Roger Clemens went from my favorite player to my least favorite player as a Yankee. Yet I still root for former Spurs Antonio Daniels, Derek Anderson, Speedy Claxton and of course Mr. Kevin Willis.

As far as the Jimmy J thing goes I have to side with tphuey on this one. Having to move around the country is a part of being a professional athlete, and they are pair accordingly, and then some. I have always hated the Jazz, they are without a doubt my least favorite team in the league. But if I got the opportunity to play in the NBA I would sit at the end of the Jazz Bench in a heartbeat. I can't stand it when these athletes like Steve Fancis and Eli Manning refuse to play for a team. If you don't like it go be an accountant or something.
