SAN ANTONIO-Behind Final's MVP, Tim Duncan's triple-double performance and legend David Robinson's double-double outing, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the New Jersey Nets tonight by a final score of 88-77 in game six of the NBA finals.

After posting the league's best regular season record and scoring the second MVP award in as many years for Tim Duncan as well as Coach of the Year honors for Gregg Popovich, the San Antonio Spurs are for the second time the NBA Champs.

The fourth quarter was the barnburner, as Stephen Jackson sparked the Spurs 19-0 point run with a pair of Tim Duncan assisted threes. The Nets who were fabulous in quarters one through three had no answer for the Spurs in the fourth quarter as Kenyon Martin and the rest of the Nets left it in the hands of an overwhelmed Jason Kidd.

Martin who has gained little love from many for his antics on court was a horrid 3 for 23, from the field.

The other story was the point guard position for the Spurs. Tony Parker who was smothered defensively by Kerry Kittles had what he considered a horrible game and back up Speedy Claxton, was there to put up 13 points and dish 4 assists.

Said Parker," I played terrible... but I don't care, we won!"

But it was Tim Duncan's near perfect performance that had the Nets reeling. He had a near quadruple double, with 21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 blocks.

When asked about it postgame, Duncan paused, looked down deep in thought and proclaimed it to be cool. He wasn't aware how close he'd come to a quad and said so.

"Down the stretch, my shot wasn't exactly there and luckily enough I was drawing double teams and those guys were hitting shots," said the Finals MVP, who also set a Finals record with 32 blocks in this series. "So I'm going to give them the ball every time they're open."

Said Coach of the Year, Gregg Popovich, "I'm sure he had absolutely no clue what his stats were, what was going on statistically."

Spurs Legend David Robinson had 13 points and hauled down 17 rebounds in tonight's victory. Playing like a man inspired, Robinson was every bit the interior presence he has always been for the past fourteen years. He had four blocks on his own as the Spurs held another block party. They had 13 blocks total to the Nets 5. And the Spurs bench outscored the Net's 31-17.

I'm a homer.
