Count Your Blessings, Spurs Fans

Spurs fans, we need to count our blessings for not only loyally supporting a year in, year out top tier NBA franchise, a championship club with a Hall-of-Fame track record and talent, but also a club which is the epitome of class, hard work, tenacity and HUMILITY. <br>

With all the bad press the big market teams get, its incredibly refreshing to read quotes from Danny Ferry, actually choosing to be a man and give thanks to the community instead of ripping the organization for not earning more salary. Guys like Bruce Bowen take pay cuts to stay here, while real role models like Malik Rose look nowhere but to San Antonio when time to re-sign. When you look at the roster, loaded with men of class and dominating talent, you gotta feel great. Tim, David, Malik, Tony, Danny, Steve, Bruce, Gino, YOU NAME HIM, he is a worker and a winner. All this garbage about Tim opting to leave the club in 2003 or the great inevitable fall the Spurs will undergo when David retires...all a bunch of bull! <br>

One thing this franchise has proven year in and year out is that it may be one of the smallest markets with a fickle, at best, national media following, it has the heart of a lion and ALWAYS rewards its fans with the finest example of a rare combination of grace and power in sports, consistently winning division titles and contending for championships while avoiding domestic abuse spouts and drug abuse. Every year. <br>

So count your blessings Spurs fans and get ready for yet another championship contending year. Get ready for more great things to happen, and expect this in 2003 and beyond. Undoubtedly more championships are on the horizon.<br>
