Injuries were the only reason the Spurs won the title last year. Ignore the Webber, Dirk, and Kobe injuries, and even Horry’s bruised hand if you want. But the reality is, they happened, and they were much bigger than injuries to Anderson, Elliott, Johnson and even over-the-hill Drob over the last four years. We're talking superstar injuries, not role player crap. So you can ignore the Fox and George injuries, that's fine.

Though no doubt, Spurs were a good team last year. But you’ve lost all of your role players sans Parker and Manu (who are great, actually), don’t except a title with Duncan and cream puff Rasho in the middle battling Malone and Shaq or Webber and Miller.

But keep on believing, man. Ignore the press and any of the many half-intelligent basketball fans out there, if you want. People are still predicting L.A. will win it all, and the smarter ones are predicting Sac if L.A. doesn’t win.
Hint: A key member of the Spurs was injured for each year, so you won't be able to. But go ahead and try.

I would actually care if those injuries were to Duncan, but they weren’t. Of course I concede 2000 where Duncan was out, but since the Spurs were romped 8-1 the next two years with a nearly identical team in 2001, what in the world makes you believe the Spurs were capable of beating the Lakers in 2000, especially when you consider the Lakers finished first in the West at 67-15. Hello?

Quote:
The Lakers HAVE NEVER gone 16-1.

You missed the point, sadly. Yeah, 15-1, an absolutely stunning difference. Gargantuan.

It's sad Spurs fans have stooped as low as this.
