Help Make Spurs Central Grow

Without a doubt we have the best Spurs fan forum on the internet. We should be proud that we have a forum that we can express INTELLIGENT opinion here without the constant flooding of 'smack talkers' and 'trolls' that you see on other Spurs and NBA boards.<br>

Most of you guys wouldn't know that this forum has been running, in one way or another, for over six years. It's had a number of homes; from Hoffy's Haven to SpursCentral to SpursCentral.com to SpursHoops.com to SAHoops.com and now back to Spurs Central. It's been taken a long time to make what most of us take for granted now.<br>

And as we speak the moderators of the board are planning another, bigger and better site relaunch for the new season.<br>
<br>
I've made many life long friends on this board, and I'm sure that some of you guys have done the same thing. I smile every time that I hear about one of the site 'Get Togethers' and I'm looking forward to attending my first ever 'G.T.G.' later this year. For those that don't know me, I call my home Australia and I'll be flying to the other side of the world to meet friends that I met right here, on this board.<br>

Infact, our Get Togethers have been that good that other Spurs sites have copied our idea. <br>

In our heyday, when the site was part of the Rivals.com and had tens of thousands of visitors each day, the board was booming. Since then Rivals.com folded and went bankrupt the board has lost some of its popularity, not because the product isn't first class, but because not many people know that we are around. We simply don't have the cash to spend on advertising like Rivals.com once did.<br>

Here's where you all can help. E-mail our sites address to EVERY Spurs and NBA fan in your e-mail address book. Invite your workmates, friends etc... to join in the fun!<br>

This offseason means that the Spurs will get a rest and make some new things happen for the next regular season and run to the playoffs. It also means this place, it's mods and it's regulars will be doing all kinds neat things to keep this place up, running and exciting.<br>

Last year, we made a great effort, imo to fill this place with Spurs news, rumors and articles from all over. Drew came up with many sources for Spurs and NBA news and we bomabrded the board with all the news that we could. This offseason should be neat with the <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><b> Manu</b><!--EZCODE BOLD END--> watch and all. So don't expect this place to shutdown for the offseason.<br>
<br>
On top of that; Drew and Blondie with our help are spear-heading the new main website, which will truly be the Spurs site by the fans for the fans. BiggD has some of the preilimnary work done and we will be tweaking it for a in-work on-line version for the pre-season. Articles from ourselves, polls quizzes, news, opinions, rants and raves and professional stuff from guys like Hoffy, should it please him, are what we are looking to do. Between the lot of us I think it will be a great experience and a neat site, and a lot of work.<br>

Thanks to all who have put all of their time and donations in having these GTG's and working towards bringing all of this together. Next year will be great and I am excited.<br>

I know I'm new here, and I certainly don't intend to offend anyone, but I have a question. Are there any plans to adopt a new color scheme for the forum? A little more on the bright and cheerful side might induce a first time visitor to come back.<br>

A new mainpage website sounds great! How about internal columnists and links to national columnists writing about the Spurs? Although I'm practically computer illiterate, I'm a good proof-reader and I've been known to do some writing.
