This is why the NBA isnt popular anymore except for in cities with teams. I read something the other day and the NBA has a steady decline in TV ratings, and so on. And this is why. <br>

Actually I think it was more if someone throws something at you and you fear for yourself. I hardly think getting soda thrown at you would constitute fear, more like anger.<br>

The people I think are the most culpable are probably Wallace, who flagrantly and maliciously assaulted Artest, and in effect started the whole thing. The other is Stephen Jackson who jumped into the crowds and punched that dude out. I could see them getting the biggest fine/suspension, but everyone that got involved will get in trouble. And the fans that were involved should be suspended for life, if they can be identified that is. <p></p><i></i>

These prima donna multi-millionaires with cro-magnon class and intelligence are the only ones at fault here, and I'm talking about Artest, Jackson, O'Neal, Ben Wallace etc. etc. Hey, its not like there are fights in venues every night. This is an extremely rare occurence and this is 100% on the players. Screw the players union and screw the obviously biased, egotistical, extremely overated types like Stephen Smith who mercilessly pimp the "ballers". Funny, after the smoke from that disaster in Detroit settles, that idiot in that studio will put his blinders back on and continue to ride the jocks of those athletes which make the headlines, regardless how. <br>

What the hell was Ron Artest doing laying on the media table messing with that headgear? So he got doused with a beer...sounds like he almost had it coming with such behavior. The fan who threw that beer needs to be disciplined and security, perhaps, tightened, particularly in Detroit. But its idiots like Artest who taint the image of an entire league, and its horse's asses like Stephen Smith who take the pathetic stand in defense of such criminal assaults simply because the perp is a baller. <br>

Grande, Artest is just plain STUPID. Think about it: you're a millionaire, you get payed a sick amount of money to play a game, your team is winning. SO, someone throws beer at you, all right. If you stay cool about it, the guy will be thrown out, your team will still win and you'll prove to be the better man. Isn't it rational?<br>

Of course, nothing is rational when it comes to Artest. He HAD to prove his toughness, he HAD to let everyone know that nobody can mess with him.
