GAME: Minnesota Timberwolves (33-32) at San Antonio Spurs (48-15).
TIME: Wednesday, 8 p.m. CST.

The San Antonio Spurs are still banged up, but they're glad to have their star back on the floor. Tim Duncan will continue shaking off the rust when the Spurs host the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Duncan returned Monday after missing two games because of a sprained right ankle and tightness in his back. He had 18 points and 13 rebounds in San Antonio's 112-89 victory over the conference-worst New Orleans Hornets. The Spurs lost to Denver and Phoenix in Duncan's absence.

"I felt really good, actually," Duncan said. "Beno (Udrih) took open shots. Brent (Barry) did the same thing. Everyone shared the ball real well."

Udrih, a 22-year-old rookie, scored a career-high 25 points. He made his first-ever start in place of Tony Parker, who missed his first game of the season with a quadriceps injury.

Barry, who had 17 points, started in place of Manu Ginobili. Ginobili sat out his third straight game with a strained groin.

"It's real important for those guys to do that, because that's the depth we talk about and haven't seen for about a month," coach Gregg Popovich said of Udrih and Barry.

Nazr Mohammed had his best game since coming to San Antonio on Feb. 24 in a trade with New York. He scored eight points in 21 minutes.

The Spurs are tied with the Suns for the best record in the NBA. Miami, which leads the Eastern Conference, is percentage points behind both teams with a 50-16 record.

The Timberwolves beat the Dallas Mavericks 100-91 on Tuesday, improving to 2-2 on a seven-game stretch against likely playoff-bound opponents. After facing San Antonio, Minnesota takes on Memphis and Houston.

Kevin Garnett scored 11 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter and had 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who welcomed back Sam Cassell, Michael Olowokandi and Eddie Griffith.

Cassell, who had missed seven straight and 22 of the previous 33 games with a strained right hamstring, scored 15 points. Olowokandi, who missed nine games with an injured knee, had eight points and nine rebounds in 18 minutes. Griffin, who also missed nine games with an injured hand, had three points and eight rebounds but fouled out after 15 minutes. All three came off the bench.

The Timberwolves are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for ninth place in the Western Conference, a half-game behind Denver for the eighth and final playoff spot.

STANDINGS: Timberwolves - 3rd place, 11{ GB, Northwest Division. Spurs - 1st place, Southwest Division.
This says Tony isn't starting, but I'm pretty sure he will play, they interviewed him on mysa.com and he came across as pretty confident about playing vs the wolves.
For the two or three that are on the forums right now- Spurs up 85-68 with 2 minutes left. Horry with 18 points. I guess he knew Misti was in town.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I was at the game and the 3 things that obviously stood out were (1) Robert Horry; (2) The 1st quarter; and (3) Tim Duncan.

Sorry Tim but we have come to expect that kind of stuff out of you so you only rank 3rd.

RoHo had one of his best games as a Spur. Since she was reportedly in town for the game, could Video Girl have had something to do with that? Did she slip him a $20 before the game for some custom highlights?

And the 1st quarter set the tone. It wasn't pretty after that but the remarkable thing was how few turnovers we had. Wasn't it only 1 in the 1st half? Nevertheless, with the steady play of our superstar, a big night out of 1 other guy, and a little help from everybody else, we made beating the Wolves look pretty easy.

And I also noted that Michael Olowokandi makes Rasho look like freaking Wilt Chamberlain. What a trainwreck that guy is. And Rasho doesn't even need to be tasered to know when to leave the nightclub. In almost every way, Olowokandi is one of the more favorable comparisons to make against Rasho as far as centers go.
You caught my secret MD, Horry said to me before the game, "This one's for you!" Okay, not really, but it was very fortunate that I was there for tonight's game to see him score *18* points. Misti, you should come back to SA in May and June to give the Big Shot more kharma. I was glad he had a good game. Looks like he's playing healthy again.

Did you go down to see the Impact Player of the Game? I looked to see if I could recognize you but I didn't find you. I was watching it from Section 125 behind him.

I didn't go down for the Impact Player of the Game but I did stay and listened to him. Everyone keeps saying that I'm good luck because he played so well last night but keep in mind that the last 2 games I flew to see him play he didn't even play in. He was just trying to make up for those games.

MistiLynn
Glad everyone got to see such a great game. The Spurs dominated a very un-intimidating Wolves D.
So Misti do we get one of your famous "Game Recaps"?
