^Yeah, Bob was so great at announcing close games. I'll never forget him calling Sean's shot in '99 and Jordan's shot against Utah in '98.

Uhhhh.....am I the only one who didn't even hear Michaels until seeing this clip? Were any of you honestly watching from a place that was quiet following that shot!??!

Quote:
before he hit that shot at the end of the 3rd, I was cursing his name

I have to admit that at the GTG at Jackie's house, I was dogging Robert pretty bad. Then he hit the shot at the end of the 3rd and I think I said "it's about time". Little did I know that he was just getting warmed up.

Quote:
Can you imagine being a Detroit fan right now?

The San Antonio Express News had one of the more interesting pictures in it today of the Big Shot. It showed Robert right after he released the ball with it being maybe 2' out of his hands. He's looking at the front of the rim, in perfect shooting form, his eyes as cool as the Iceman's ever were.

But what I really studied is the Pistons fans in the background of the photo sitting, maybe 12-15 of them all sitting less than 10-12' from Robert. All of their eyes are focused on Robert and they showed a wide range of emotions which, to me, is what the game is all about.

Among others, we had one white dude in the front row leaning with body english.

The dude next to him, dressed like a Kid Rock wannabe, has almost no expression on his face.

One dude behind them is bringing both hands up to his face with a pissed-off expression and his mouth just starting to form a "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"!

One lady to the right of him already has her hands over her mouth and a frightened look on her face.

One lady sitting lower than her is just smiling like she just got her Botox injection.

There are others in the photo too that interested me. But that photo told me more about that particular instant of the game and what they were going through than all of the Pistons whining and venting after the game.

If you have a chance, study that photo. It's priceless!
I can watch that clip over and over and over again. I also get a kick out of Devin jumping up and down on the sidelines!

the most amazing thing about that shot is that Sam called it dead-on just seconds before the ball was inbounded to Manu.

Well said Dave. I watched the local broadcast, with Argentineans announcers and all, and they went freaking crazy when Horry hit that shot. Then I watched the clip at NBA.com and couldn't believe it. I thought "this guys sounds so.... DEAD!". I was relieved I didn't have to listen to him.

You should tune SAP's on ESPN USA. You will probably don't understand a thing, but will at least hear the excitement in the guys voices.
