I heard it on the way home. Popazit was asked the question that was on my mind. "If the reason you traded Malik was to unload his big contract, then why the heck did you idiots sign Malik Rose to that huge contract to begin with?" I thought Holt and Popazit were rewarding Malik after championship. I thought it was all good. He said that the Spurs were "forced" to give Malik that big contract and that they "had no choice". WTH?!?!?!?!? <p>--<br>

From what I've gathered, they needed to sign Malik, regardless of contract, to show Timmie they were serious in keeping a consistent line up from one season to the next.<br>

They try and get guys with good character. It also hurts him and RC because they have to make that decision. They are sad, too. ^^ also to add, on ksat12 pop said everyone feels like its pops fault for trading malik and that he doesnt care...pop answer was that it was extremely hard to trade malik because pop was the one who brought him to SA by picking him up off waivers...malik was undrafted then was waived and pop saw he had potential so he brought him to the spurs. <p></p><i></i>

The part about Rasho, I agree with. I appreciate the strengths of Rasho more after his recent stint on the injured list.<br>

The part about Malik guarding Snaq I disagree with. It didn't sound like a sincere, thoughtful answer. It sounded like a cop-out, an excuse. It sounded like the excuse-making they did after dumping Antonio Daniels.<br>

The part about Malik getting a ring if the Spurs win it all, I don't think anyone has to worry about it. The players will take care of that. I wouldn't put it past Tim Duncan to honour Malik with his own ring if necessary. <p>--<br>
