Thurl and I cannot take credit for this one. Brickowski outdid us once and for all by directing our attention to the inconceivable collaboration between Tony Parker, Fabolous, and French Rapper Booba (Shoals assures me that there is a shout-out to Tim Duncan somewhere in this song)...
First of all, this COMPLETELY raises the stakes on strange collaborations. It used to be, "Wow, that's odd KRS ONE and Puffy did a song together" or "Gee whiz, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow made a ballad!" Soon it's gonna be, "that new Matthew Barney collaboration with Warren Sapp, Debra Winger and Beenie Man is GULLY." The LEAST strange aspect of this song is that Mr. Longoria is rapping. The most strange, potentially what was FAB-O doing with these Parisian cats?

Equally strange--although I can't tell what he's saying--is that Parker sounds really f@#%$ good. Like way better than any athlete attempting to rap. Ever. Seriously. Like, dude is way more intelligent than Kobe or Cedric Ceballos, so he probably actually rehearsed and practiced his craft for a while before taking to the studio.

Which all brings me to the fact that I can't really hate on the Spurs anymore. Maybe I never did. Maybe I just hated on Sean Elliot and Steve Kerr as homer-tastic commentators (you'd think Kerr was never a member of those MJ-Bulls teams!), the praise for Ginobili's recklessness that the equally wacky 2002-2003 Troy Hudson never received (Black people "loot" and play "out of control;" Argentinians "find"....and play "fearlessly"), and the idolizing of Duncan merely because (gassssssssssssssssp) he graduated college.
