I love this. An article says that Parker will play with Kidd and the Pro-Kidd people climb all over it and act like it is the complete truth and say 'see, I told you so', then another article comes out and says he would rather get traded than to play with Kidd and then you poo poo the article and say that they don't know what they are talking about.:lol

I don't really pay too much to any of the articles because most likely none of them know what he is saying or thinking.

I merely go by my intuition that while technically Parker could probably play with Kidd, I don't think he would want to. He is one of the better point guards in the league (not a small guard), he just helped a team win a championship, and what does he get? A stab in the back by bringing in a point guard that is likely to add very little to what the team may accomplish and therby relegate Parker to a lower tierd status and fewer minutes most likely not to mention moving him out of his natural position.

To me it makes sense and is what I have been saying all along. I don't need an article to verify it.

If Kidd does come here, I think you will see one of two things. One is that he will ask to be traded, and at some point in the next two to three years (with the team keeping their one year option) he will get traded, or two, when his contract is up in two to three years, that Tony will simply go to another team.

But if this is true...and TP does ask to be traded...

what can we get in return?? I'm sure we can get a good solid big-man to replace him...

Not likely. Remember, his contract is only for around $750,000/year, so in order to get anybody worth doing it for you would have to have a big package.

Parker wont get traded, if we sign Kidd. There wont be enough cap space left to trade him for someone of equal value. By equal value I mean as a player, obviously their contracts will be heavily skewed.

No, Tony is stuck in SA until his contract runs out whether he likes it or not.

Well, DUH!!!!!!

Did anyone honestly think Tony was going to meekly accept coming off the bench for the next six years so he could 'learn' how to be a point guard?

Get real!

Of course he will ask to be traded. The problem is that Tony's cap value is so much less than his real value. That makes it hard for the Spurs to get a quality player for him.

One idea might be to trade him for a high 1st round draft pick. That's always a gamble, but otherwise the Spurs could see him walk in two years and get nothing for him. (Maybe they could draft a point guard to take over when King Kidd retires. /sarcasm)

What happens if the Spurs won't trade him? Tony has shown great maturity and a willingness to toe the company line so far. But the prospect of having his nose rubbed in Jason Kidd for two years might be too much. He could become a problem in the locker room. There is more than one way to ask for a trade.

One thing, the Spurs have the option on Tony's 5th year. If they want they can make him stay here for the next three years.

No offense, but why the hell would we want to do that?! We could skip all the crap, let Kidd be and plan for a big man and still come out better. :wtf

I love Tony, but if this is true it's total BS.

Dear Tony,

I love you man, you are one of my top 3 fav. players in the Spurs roster. But don't come out and say that you welcome Kidd in SA and then totally say the opposite the next day. Just say it, do you like Kidd or do you not welcome Kidd. Get on the ball Tony, 'cause I know R.C. and Pop won't pass up on a top 5 player on the NBA.

I agree keep Tony and maybe not sign Kidd, but this article just pissed me off. :pissed

This is just my opinion, ok...

This whole thing is BAD all the way around........I cannot believe the front office really thinks bringing in Kidd is a good idea at teh risk of losing TP!
