What kind of movie do you want to make? Comedy? Drama? Experimental? Homemade porn?
If you're talking about pitching a movie as in pitching to a studio then LA is the place to be. And you better know someone who knows someone who's neighbor knows the janitor guy who has the keys to to get you in the executive's office backdoor. But if you want to make an indie film on your own there are a lot of resources. Mainly - your pocketbook.
I work with several people who produce their own indie films and there is a variety of strategies they use to promote their films. The most popular is the film festival circuit. It's a gamble but you never know. Finding inverstors is another area altogether.
My best advice is to check places like the SA Film Commission or NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers). They often have film forums and workshops that talk about a variety of issues.
I went to the CineFestival film festival last month at the Guadalupe Theatre and attended one of their seminars called "Promoting Your Film". Basically, it was led by Pablo Veliz. He is a 23 year old film maker who's shoestring budget indie film got rejected at every film festival in Texas. He then sent it to Sundance and it got selected. Now everyone is kissing his ass.
Hope this helps. Just keep your eyes open and good luck with the porn...........

That was a great reply. it is not often you can get legit advise on the www these days. I never could understand why I don't have over 30 million in the banks by now. I come up with some cool ideas. I have 5 million dollar inventions sitting on my desk as we speak. I thought as long as come up with the ideas the other person get 50% doing what I don't know how.
I already did the hard part I have the Oscar winning movie, I have a cool invention where you plug your kids monitor to it and you can see at work what websites your kids are surfing, w/o it the PC won't turn on. The signal is a wireless signal kinda like a cell phone or laptop.
The monitor is about 5x7 and can be worn around your neck or placed on your desk, No more wondering what your kids are doing on line.
I even came up with a wireless mouse that is a glove. you put on the glove and you can right click by touching your index finger with your thumb. It is great for busy folks who have corporal tunnel.
The list goes on. I feel kinda like if I am Lebron James I already have the talent. I just need someone to get me a good contract. You would think I would be fighting off the offers by now. I even have 5 Books I need to get written. two are kids books, one is about life with a dad from Viet Nam hooked on drugs and two others.
If I try to contact that man you talked about I will blend right in with all the others who are kissing his ass.
I guess I will just have to find the person who has the money and the movie camera already set up they just have s*** for movie ideas.
Until I find that cat I will have to keep using my talent going to different web sites and getting banned.
I will click on your links and i will go to those events when they come around, and I will get back to you on any progress. I hate when folks ask for help and they never reply to the topic to tell others what they ended up doing.
You know those topics like "I need a name for my softball team" and after 3 pages of ideas they never say what name they went with.
I won't leave you hanging brah. I might even give 10% of what I make
Thanks see you on the red carpet one day................
I am going to shake things up in the film world!

Bro, I should hang out with you. My movies are only $5-10 million.
Tonight there was a group called Short Ends Project that screened their stuff at the Bijou over at Wonderland. They're all shorts and some are good and some not so good. But it's a local group of filmmakers trying to do stuff and put it up on the big screen. I didn't go 'cause i've already seen them all but i'll probably go to the next one. I'll let you know.

Mouse - you have to decide if you're a movie writer or a movie-maker.
If I were you, I'd be looking for the technique of writing a script. Seems that's the stage you're at now. From all I understand, a movie idea itself is only useful if you're attached to a studio or an established producer. What you need to do is transfer these ideas into something concrete - a script. Learn how to write one and you'll have something to pitch. The idea - well, it's not worth anything right now.
Of course, once you have a script, you'll be in a group of 1000s with one.
Perhaps Gameface will comment on this. _________________ GO SPURS GO

Joe lopez the man who bought all the equipment had his shop broken into. They took many tools and his video equipment.
He is really pissed they took his expensive power saws and jack hammers I am afraid to bring up a 900.00 dollar camera. The film was 90% finished .
I even paid a homeless man to act like my father in the film. I tried to get some folks in a few other forums to chime in but everyone is either busy or they think making movies is a dead end time waster.
If you want to do something together e mail me brah!
