We could trade Udrih, Parker and possibly someone that could even out Iverson's contract and get A.I. !!!!

Uh...no thanks. Now if you had said, Beno, Horry, Brent, and rights to Scola for AI, then maybe we'll talk. IMO Parker is among the top 3 or 4 PG in the NBA.

AI is 31. If this was 3 or 4 years ago I'd be drooling. Now? It's more like next, please.
Potential trades:

Spurs trade Beno Udrih and Brent Barry for Kevin Ollie and Steven Hunter. The Spurs get an OK 7 footer to man the center. Ollie is just thrown in to make the trade work, but he might be an OK 3rd string PG.

RealGM trade ID: 3238438

Spurs trade Beno Udrih and Brent Barry for Kevin Ollie and Kyle Korver. The Spurs get a deadly 3 point shooter, and an aging mediocre point guard. I'm not sure this makes the Spurs any better, but Korver is a lot younger than Barry.

RealGM trade ID: 3238459

On August 21, the Spurs trade Beno Udrih, Brent Barry, and Eric Williams for Samuel Dalembert. This gets the Spurs a decent, athletic starting center. It locks them into a fairly expensive contract (for 4 years) with Dalembert, but their net salary hasn't increased much.

RealGM trade ID: 3238510

The Spurs trade Beno Udrih and Fabricio Oberto for Steven Hunter. We lose a backup point and a backup center but gain a guy who might be able to start at center. This only makes sense for the Spurs if they believe Steven Hunter is going to make a leap forward.
I think that the only way the Spurs are going to trade Beno is for Dalembert. And if they could get another solid backup for Tony.

I like Vo Wolf's last option the best. Although I would be fine with the first one as well.

Beno isn't going anywhere except into the backup Point Guard slot for the Spurs.

Especially not for a bunch of some other team's old overpaid junk.
The original quote said "several teams" have contacted SA. I wonder who they are and what they could offer. The Spurs have made it clear that a backup PG is a priority and it seems Beno isn't in those plans. If you can get a guy like Hunter for Beno - do it.

I like the Hunter trade. I suggested him last summer. He's hot and cold like Nazr but he's younger and a legitimate 7 footer. He gave the Spurs problems during the Spurs/Suns playoffs last year. Him and Javtokas could battle it out for the starting position. Dalembert is too pricey.

Maybe there could be a three team trade that could land us one of Atlanta's SF's.

Samuel Dalembert, just say no! Hunter on the other hand would be nice.
