Boring

Boring

Postby Dripping Spurs Fan on Tue Aug 02, 2011 7:07 pm

The NBA is boring right now. And it looks like it is going to be boring for awhile.

We are getting news like this:

The union and the NBA are far apart.

Kobe is not playing in China.

A rookie I never heard of is working out in a gym in New Jersey.

Joe Blow is resting his injuries.

Kobe is not playing in Turkey.

Kobe is not playing in England.

One of the teams is hiring a new assistant coach.

I'm going to cancel my cable TV. Really. It could be it for me.

Yeah, but at least we're having football. It could be worse. :chairfall:

It will be really bad in around April when we have no NBA at all just brace yourself and get ready for Pro and college football then march madness

I hope the NBA is back soon but honestly I'm not missing it that much. I'm a huge soccer fan and the leagues and tournaments worldwide have kept me busy.

That's a good point about cancelling cable TV, I've been thinking about that too, but like libri I'm a soccer fan
too and the competitions all over Europe will begin soon.
Also for the last 3 years I've been following the NHL a little bit too. I'm not a big football fan, although I can handle watching a little baseball. Guys spitting and touching their crotch all the time is funny as hell.

Earlier this week, West tweeted that he was applying for a job at Home Depot, and the seven-year vet says that’s not the only retail job he’s looking into.

“I actually might have work with Sam’s [Club], BJ’s, selling knives,” West said. “That’s pretty cool too. I get a microphone and everything.” ...“You gotta get with it, do something that you love,” he said. “I’m an architect, I was an art major. At Home Depot, I get free discount on hammers and nails.”

This is supposed to be an exciting time for NBA teams. Guys are getting back into the practice facility, hittin' the weights. Having fun with the coaches. Talkin' about the fun things they did during the summer.

Instead we get static, because the players and coaches are scared to death to talk to the public, due to the fact that David Stern will fine them up to $1,000,000,000 if they slip up and say something that Stern deems condescending.

Ron Artest did Ron Artest things, like embarking on a comedy tour, playing in streetball leagues, changing his name, thinking about changing his jersey number, agreeing to play with a team in England and then joining the next cast of "Dancing With the Stars."

This is why I'm glad I started following MMA (thanks to my friend who got me watching it about 3 years ago).

Year around fights in both the UFC and Strikeforce with no chance of strikes.

That's some hardcore sh*t right there, these guys don't mess around, full contact.
Only thing I don't like 'bout that competition is when they get tangled up on the floor.
And they start pounding on the head like that, weird that kind of wrestling-style.
