Game Blog: Spurs vs Clippers: 12/28/11 at 7:30

Going to be another early test for the Spurs; Paul (flops and all) and "lob city" come to town. The Spurs big's can't get into foul trouble early on like they did against the Grizzlies; especially with Jordan and Griffin on the opposite side.

I was very impressed with the minutes/rotations Pop went with in the 1st game; Kawhi coming off the bench early on and Splitter getting 25+ minutes. Also it was great that the Spurs took control in the 3rd quarter; sometimes that has been a sore spot in recent history, typically they come out flat after halftime.

Who will be the first to get dunked on by Blake?

not a good start early on, both Tim and blair pick up a foul 2 min into the 1st quarter

Manu mvp of the game so far; just had 2 nice passes; one to Blair, other to Parker; then Parker finished a fast break drive

nice steal by Splitter, nice pass TJ back to Splitter!!!

Splitter is playing Griffin very well on defense.

Spurs 31-23

after leading by 10+ throughout the 2nd quarter; Clips are hitting their shots; mostly 3s

Manu just hit a 3 to finally answer:

Manu hits a 3 to end the quarter:

Spurs 58-54; but that was terrible quarter defensively; Clips probably outscored us 20+ to 10 in the final 6 minutes or so.

Hoping to see more perimeter defense.
