Grrr... getting frustrated by Spurs emails

Postby Mongo on Fri Nov 10, 2006 6:57 pm

Like most of you I signed up with Spurs.com several years ago, updating my address as needed when the site changed.

Until this year, this meant an occasional email from them, usually before big events and some special promotions.

This summer I started getting a fair amount of non-Spurs but SBC related material. I edited my preferences on the site and that fixed most of it.

But I've been getting more Spurs info/emails than I wanted this fall. Emails on each game, special offers, etc... I finally went to the site and un-checked every box, which should fix it.

Noooo, still getting Spurs emails. Anyone else had this problem? What they really need is several layers of Spurs email offers - letting you choose not to get game-day emails, etc. The site seems to give you a lot of control, but I can't seem to pull the plug!

I have noticed a ton of e-mails coming from the Spurs this season, trying to drive more traffic? I don't know, but an e-mail after every single game is a bit much.

Post game report emails

Postby b1gdon on Sat Nov 11, 2006 2:24 am

You know, I'm not too pissed off about the post game emails. Sure, they could have waited until football season was over, when the NBA season really begins for me, but post game reports aren't too bad. It's nice to see the company line.

Yes, I'm sure many fans would enjoy the almost daily emails. But the site needs to give more control over this. They simply have choices of Yes or No to Spurs emails... and that apparently doesn't work.

I noticed the same thing, glad I'm not the only one.

Yeah I am signed up for emails from several NBA teams. The Spurs seem to generate the most this season.
