San Antonio 92 - Houston 84: Game Thread

Postby SAS Sizzle on Tue Nov 14, 2006 11:43 pm

From the play-by-play and looks of the box score, Rob had some critical momentum plays, Beno caught fire to get it close, and Manu finally took over in the 4th quarter and just changed the whole game around. Too bad I didn't actually SEE IT since I am broke and couldn't afford to goto Plucker's to catch it on NBATV, frikkin' Austin man, I swear...ArGH!

And dude,

Best of all about tonights game, the Rockets and their Great Wall of Chinaman crumble like a Girl Scout cookie! Yet another sleepless night for Beetlejuice Van Gundy.

Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature...

He peed on your rug, dude.

Yeah, I was reaching there.

Crumbled like a bad fortune cookie?

Over the past few seasons, Duncan's defensive edge appears to be a little blunt. He is instructed to guard players out on the floor, guard them inside, get every crucial rebound, etc., etc.. But his blocked shots are the part of his game that helps the Spurs immensely but seems to be fading with his foot problems and age.

But last night, the highlight of the night for me was definitely Duncan's block of Yao going to the hoop. Certainly Duncan ate a few of his own shots last night. But his revenge on Yao at a crucial time of the game was sweeeeeeeet!

Whichever politically incorrect analogy you want to use, the Chinaman crumbled.

The 2nd half collapse aside, I am still convinced that Houston is our biggest competition for the title this year. Keep in mind that they still haven't even worked in the Spurs Killer Bonzi Wells.

Yeah what is up with Bonzi? I also expected to see some Steve Novak.

Well I was really pissed in the first half the Spurs were playing like crap and Yao and TMac were dominating us. Bowen was getting smoked yet again and Oberto was working on fouling out in 7 min.

But the second half, what a comeback. Beno and Horry were huge. Good to see Horry and Manu having good games. Your next Fin.

Oh yeah, I also dug the Francisco Elson interview they had on NBATV after the game.

And Congrats to Horry on reaching 1,000 career games. :jam2:
