Former NBA player Dwayne Schintzius has an interesting theory about why he was traded from San Antonio to Sacramento after just one season with the Spurs: it was his mullet.
Well, it may not have been his hairstyle, per se, but maybe how he handled Spurs GM Bob Bass’ request to change it.

Schintzius told the Tampa Tribune (via the San Antonio Express-News) that Bass did not like his “lobster” haircut and asked him to cut it.
"He told me to cut it,'' Schintzius told the Tribune. "So I got it cut and sent him the shavings in an envelope. I'm not sure he appreciated that. And then, away I went.''
He was traded to the Kings in exchange for Antoine Carr in September 1991.
Schintzius, a center from the University of Florida who the Spurs picked with the 24th overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft, played for six teams during an undistinguished eight-year NBA career, in which he averaged just 2.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Perhaps Bass’ reasons for trading him went beyond his haircut.
