Spurs FA abilities after Splitter?

Need some help here from those of you that follow these things more closely than I do.

If we sign Splitter to a FA contract (I read that we'll have to give him essentially our mid-level exemption) what ability, if any, will we have to sign any new players? I have heard that if we sign Splitter we'd have no other room to bring anyone else in. Is that true? I suppose our hope would be one of the D-League guys... Gee, Hairston, etc... would feel some needs. Where does that leave us?

I was a bit concerned about that too Pitter. I read that he can ask more than a rookie can since it has been so long since he was drafted - the Spurs will have to use their MLE on him they want to get him....

If we could get rid of RJ's contract...

Spurs still have their LLE which is worth around 2 million per year for a maximum of 2 years.

I was hoping he would opt out. Never know though. A lot of Spurs pick ups played poorly the first year and great the 2nd. Being that this year will be a contract year for him he better bring it.
