I thought we'd try and get activity around the forum. Pump up you guys for the season ahead. We're facing Memphis, who we despise, and we're on our way towards a lockout repeat of 1999.

I have a feeling Tim goes off.

Based on the preseason; Tim and Tony will probably carry us this game as well as during the early part of the season. Hopefully then, Manu gets into a rhythm going into the playoffs. Spurs need to peak as the playoffs approach, not during the early stages of the regular season.

Splitter needs to play well for the Spurs to have a chance; will be a good opening test for him against two good NBA PF/Cs in Gasol and Randolph. In my opinion, improved FT % (or reverting back to his Euroleague form, depending on how you look at it); will make him a deadly weapon. During last season, defenders weren't afraid to put Splitter to the line because of his bad FT % (mostly due to the Spurs shooting coach trying to restructure his form). If Splitter can become a reliable big in the rotation, the Spurs can cloak some of their weaknesses upfront from last season. Spurs still need to work on acquiring a PF/C for the starting line up; just don't have any trust in Blair/Bonner in that spot.

Good opening game for the Spurs; time for revenge.

There ain't been grizzlies in Memphis since the ice ages. Make 'em pay San Antonio!

Almost game time; will be interesting to see what type of rotations Pop decides to go with. Splitter better avg 25+ minutes this season.

nba.com is doing a 2 week long preview of for NBA League Pass Broadband. I've never actually ponied up for the money but I'm going to give it a shot for the game tonight and see how well it works.
