Spurs looking at Miles

Spurs looking at Miles

Postby gameFACE on Wed Sep 01, 2010 7:06 am

From Jeff McDonald:
Another name to add to list of those working out for #spurs this week: Ex Clips/Cavs/Blazers/Grizzlies forward Darius Miles.

Yikes! At least this indicates the Spurs are looking for a legitimate SF with decent size and not another 6'5" SF/SG combo.

From what I remember this guy is a real slacker. You would hope he is someone who might have something to prove now.

Darius Miles gets workout with Spurs
NBC Sports Pro Basketball Talk

Darius Miles wants the chance to prove his knees can hold up for another NBA campaign after multiple microfracture surgeries. And that those knees are allowing him to move well enough to bring back some of his once-promising game. It's going to take a lot of proving.

But the San Antonio Spurs are taking a look.

According to a tweet from Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News, the Spurs are giving Miles a workout.

It's a long shot he makes the team, the best outcome might be a make-good invite to training camp. Remember in June the Bobcats brought him in with other free agents for a workout and passed on him.

Miles has always been an underachiever, and there is no reason to believe he has had a dramatic change of personality.

Yeah I agree, he's crap. He's dead pretty much to the NBA, nobody wants him and nobody needs him.

Not too long ago I stumbled on the most ridiculous celebrity car I ever saw, I was Miles'.
He's got a 1975 Pontiac Bonneville sitting on 28" rims I guess.
Pimping cars and airbrushing a pot-smoking Ben Franklin into the paintjob in his new thing now.

Hey, at least our team president won't threaten to sue you if the Spurs sign Darius Miles.
Or wait, maybe there's still some Blazer slag left on his contract.

In my opinion, the Spurs have no interest in Miles; this move is more on Miles part to show that his attitude has changed; and by working out with a first class organization like the Spurs, will help him get noticed by some of the other teams in the League

^That's a pretty good idea. That may be exactly what he's doing.

Or maybe he's looking to bring some good stuff into a teams locker room.......

The Bobcats are giving forward Darius Miles a chance to make their roster with a non-guaranteed contract and an invitation to training camp.

Miles is attempting another comeback from a serious knee injury.

He was out of the league last season and has played sparingly since microfracture knee surgery in 2006.

This guy has no place in this league. He cares little about basketball, he must have just ran out of money to pimp out his rides.

One time I was at a Blazers/Clippers game when he was playing for the Clippers. This guys entire pre-game warm up consisted of shooting half court jumpers (big shocker - none went in). It was like he was 8 years old and the coaches would just let him do what ever he wanted. This guy is a joke. He was no good in LA, no good in Cleveland, and that contract Portland Gave him was just insane, at least they didn't get to weasel out of it. BTW, How does Larry Miller still have a job and Kevin Prichard doesn't.

I really hope nothing comes from this workout. It was bad enough having Damon Stoudamire on the team.

I think KP had inappropriate relations with Blaze, the team mascot

He's got some highlights from his Clipper days though, and NO not of the Highlife-kind :-)
