Did you notice they are having the charity luncheon again this year - it is on March 19th. I think I might have to go to this one!

I love the way Bruce played and the way he approached the game and how he helped win titles but with all that said having his Jersey retired is ridiculous. I am sorry that is reserved for guys like David Robinson, Tim Duncan and Iceman.

The Sean Elliot's, Bruce Bowen's,Avery Johnson's of the world should not have their Jersey retired. I like all those players mind you but retiring their jersey is ridiculous.

1kangaroo, without Sean Elliot, Avery Johnson & Bruce Bowen, we would not have 4 championships.
Bruce Bowen ran his heart, lungs & legs out for this franchise, Avery Johnson was the Admiral's little General, the preacher. I for one still remember the assists, some spectacular alley-oops.
He was the Gary Payton of the Spurs, minus the defensive supremacy of the glove ofcourse.
And Sean Elliot is 1 of the best small forwards in Spurs history, in his prime he averaged 20 ppg for the Spurs.
Have you forgotten the Memorial Day Miracle? OK, 1 shot, but that shot made us, well,... believe!
Look at Derek Fisher, he will have his jersey retired too by the Lakers someday, he never averaged 20 ppg.

Hopefully Spurs twitter has a ticket contest tomorrow to win tickets to this game, I've won before (pretty decent tickets (mid section of the arena). Going to be great atmosphere: SJAX first home game back with the Spurs and the retiring of #12 !!!

I'm watching the ceremony video on spurs.com, something about Bruce one would almost forget:
500 consecutive starts???
8-time NBA All Defensive team???
That is jaw-dropping.
Also guarding Kobe, LeBron, Melo, Nash, Chris Paul,... all those great offensive talents making them look average when Bruce was guarding them.
Unbelievable stamina, heart & determination.
BRUUUUUUUUUUUUCE !!!
