SAN ANTONIO The San Antonio Spurs today announced they've signed Olu Famutimi (OH'-loo fam-oo-TEE-mee).

The 6-foot-5 guard played last season in the N-B-A Development League with the Arkansas RimRockers, averaging six-point-eight points and two-point-seven rebounds.

Famutimi was in training camp with the Philadelphia 76ers and played in four preseason games before being waived and joining the RimRockers.

He spent two seasons at the University of Arkansas.

Last week the Spurs added three of their summer league players _ Charles Lee, Rich Melzer and Jamar Smith _ to the team's training camp roster.

The Spurs also signed Jared Reiner, a 6-foot-11 center who played in 19 games for the Chicago Bulls during the 2004-05 season.

I remember him from a few years ago with the Jazz in the RMR. he isn't a bad player, but with all the 2s and 3s the Spurs have no way he makes it.

I believe 20 players was their target number going into training camp. Six of them will be competing for one spot.

Pop said a few months ago the back up PG job was up for grabs. I don't think he has a lot of confidence in Beno, unfortunately. I hope the Spurs don't let him walk after this year...I like him.

At this point I doubt they will be real specific as to what position they want to fill. They are just looking for one guy who might be able to even play in this league.
