The back-to-back issue is mental

Pitiful effort against the 'cats. Very disappointing to see. At this point in the season, we may as well write off the 2nd game of back-to-backs... it's in our heads.

it was just a hangover from the thriller last night. they were just physically and mentally drained from that comeback.

It happens...obviously the 2nd game of a back to back is still a problem. Not an excuse, but with the way yesterdays game was I wasn't as suprised as I would be if we had a days rest. Still, losing the the freakin' Bobcats at home? We still got some work to do.

so what? the 'cats played last night in OK City and lost. we had the game in hand. to even be in a position to win after missing that many 3's is unbelievable; we had OT at home, there is no excuse for that. If you look at the box score:

http://www.nba.com/games/20061115/CHASA ... eboardhome

wow, what about the rebounds: 63-41 our favor and we lose?!
and we just didn't get buckets: 37.5% FG!
the lack of scoring at C: 2 pts on 1/9 shooting, besides timmagh!
the 3-ball: 2/17 shooting from three, and the
TO's have been killin' us lately, damn!: 18 TO's

notably we shot 82% from the stripe despite our aversion to making them in games where we could actually blow somebody out so it instead causes mild-to-severe nausea for us fans.

but did i see this correctly? manu got a rebound with 6+ seconds left and instead of calling one of the THREE timeouts we had and running a set play, they just upped it to fin for the last shot? i would like to see manu do what he's supposed to and go draw the foul or put in a layup to win, call the timeout and get across halfcourt, crikey!

speaking of manu, he has not found the range yet this season and is obviously still trying to incorporate the mid-range shot more to preserve the body for the playoffs. still, damn man hit some buckets 3/14 FG!!

his pattern to good shooting nights has always been to get it going inside early, like those games where he gets a dunk off the opening tip even. hits a couple of 3's in the first half. 3rd quarter he becomes playmaker manu, then takes over down the stretch of the 4th and seals the deal with free throws or a layup. that dude better come back!!

finally, we didn't execute anything in OT, that was just a miserable frikkin' failure like grande was sayin'...

but okafor and morrison looked great, gerald wallace didn't even have a game and they just pulled one out on the champs. okafor's block on timmagh!s dunk attempt was niiice tho, too. i felt that one really set a tone that this was gonna be a battle inside, soo many layups missed on both sides. okafor just had a whale of a game, what a line - 19 pts, 9 rebs, 5 stl, 5 blk. fantasy owners are lovin' this guy fo sho.

this was likely a case of the young guns runnin' the older fellas around for a night early in a long season, hahaha. too bad youth doesn't win playoff games.

The B2B thing is totally mental. They didn't give the Bobcats any respect. Then the Geico caveman, Adam Morrison, has a career night. A rookie no less!

Passing was absolutely LAZY. Like they didn't even care. I cringed at it because a few less turnovers and the Spurs would have had the game in the bag even with poor shooting. Anytime the Spurs have high TO's they will not win the game. Regardless of the team.

Give them respect....................

It's so easy to win against the Spurs on the second night of a B2B even a caveman can do it........

This was coach Pops idea. He told Manu to push the ball up and play on. I liked the decision in this situation. The Bobcats were on their heals and Manu got it to a hot shooting Finley. Unfortunatly it didn't work out.
