The Spurs were a disgrace tonight

Praise the Lord that I decided not to go to the game tonight, instead opting for the Chicago game. What a ridiculous performance. No excuse to miss so many three pointers at home, but what's more, to miss all the layups.

The Bobcats did a great job and shot well tonight, but still, the Spurs were lame.

I don't see how losing by a few points is a reason to say they are a disgrace.
If your the original Grande David you should be an old school Spurs fan and should know better than to bad mouth the Greatest NBA team in the history of sports.

I think you have Disgraced this forum with your topic. Image

I was pretty pissed as well. Check out my post game blog...

No Excuses

Oh the ways the Spurs make me suffer. One night after they have me celebrating, they put me through this. Let’s be honest. Everyone can come up with excuses and say they were tired after coming back to beat the Rockets last night, but they just played like crap.

At the end of the season, 82 games is 82 games whether they come on back-to-backs or 3-day rests and the Spurs let one get away tonight. The worse part about it: they lost to chumps. The Charlotte Bobcats. It didn’t bother me as much knowing they had lost their only game of the season against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but the Charlotte Bobcats!

They screwed up out of the gate by not putting their feet in the throats of a young team and putting them away early. Instead they gave them life and belief that they could beat a team like the Spurs. Not only that, but where the hell was the defense. You don’t win NBA titles by playing defense when you want to or feel like it. Altogether, it was just a disappointing night for the Spurs.

By the way, I don’t care how many points Tony Parker scores, he should have been benched in the fourth. I was calling for Beno for most of the fourth because obviously playing back-to-backs is too much for Tony’s busy schedule. He needs to know the difference between playing like an NBA point guard and leading your team one night and walking with Eva Longoria through a park the next, because he seemed all too relaxed with the ball. 25 and 5 doesn’t impress me for a starting NBA point guard when you have 6 turnovers next to it.

The Spurs ended up losing 95-92 in overtime. Let’s hope they recover quickly, because Ben Wallace won’t be so gentle shoving his foot up the Spurs collective ass if they play like this on Friday.

I didn't get to see the game, but I think the box score tells a pretty good story. The Spurs somehow managed to lose after outrebounding the Bobcats 63-41.

I'm imagining a posession in which the first shot is an ill advised 3-pointer from Horry, Oberto gets the rebound and passes it to Manu who misses the layup, Tim Duncan then secures the rebound and has a pretty easy putback but is fouled. Then Tim make one out of two at the line.

Meh, every team has a few nights where the execution just isn't there. It's kind of frustrating to see Parker with a 0.5 assist-to-turnover ratio for the game.

Good takes!
Mad2014 are you a sports writer that was a good rant/post. Grande David has a right to let off steam also. And since he is now a daddy? he will need to let off more.

I just don't think a team that has brought San Antonio and it's fans 3 NBA Championship rings deserves to be called Disgraced. But that's just me maybe I am a loyal fan. Or maybe I just don't like Grade David cuz he's Black :mhihi:

These things happen- of course we wish they didn't.

I was proud that the boys pulled themselves together enough to force overtime.
Yes, I know we should be able to be the Bobcats in regulation. But to me having an off night is forgivable so long as the effort is there, which I think it was.

Thanks for the props mouse. Yea, my background is in journalism and I used to cover the Spurs beat at a small paper in San Antonio for about 5 years until I moved to San Marcos. Kinda why I started ProjectSpurs. I wanted to continue to write about the Spurs and I still do pretty often, just not with the perks and access I had before.

I was probably about as upset as Grande David as you can tell by the Ben Wallace's foot up the Spurs collective ass comment.

Am a bit surprised but not that surprised.

They probably took the Bobcats lightly and it's a back to back game. Spurs are never good at playing back to back games.

Mad0214 Do you have an angent? You should hit a larger market like Dallas or Chicago. There is not much $ in San Antonio.

I got a PM saying Grande David is Mexican is that true?

But would you use the words Disgraced and this early in the season?
