I find this hard to believe, it doesn't seem like something he would say. The video isn't much help as I don't speak french. Maybe Jermaineoniel can help here.

He's stating the obvious with the aging although he didn't exactly wow anyone in the first round himself. This could be code that effectively tells the front office "make the team better or trade me".

I think Spurs lost the chemistry as they had. I just have this feeling.

Trading Tony would have been the worst thing. That's more players to learn Pop's "system" and screw it up even more. Our bigs and SF situation haven't been addressed appropriately since Horry, Oberto and Bruce have left. That's the fault of the front office and they aren't held accountable like the players are. At least not in public.

Screw the whole clandestine, secretive front office dealings b.s. Pop and RC need to be held accountable and Tony is calling them out and I'm glad he's doing it. He needs to back that up of course with his play. But Pop saying the team is okay as it is sounds plain stupid. Most of the games in the playoffs could have gone either way for any team except when there's a blow out.

How many people here have said that Bonner and Blair suck together. Or that RJ is total crap? I have.

I see it other wise I careless what Tony said I never thought Tony was a player worth building around. I took all types of heat from people last offseason because I said Spurs fans over value Tony Parker.so what we had players not learning Pops system and they chocked in the 1st round so that is irrelevant.

Trdaing Tony gave us the best chance for a legitimate big and the other part is on Pop for how he handled Splitter leading up to the playoffs.

This all falls on Pop and Bufford who have done this before we need drastic change but they went for status quo again. This summer reminded me of them over paying for Rose and keeping that team intact when it need changes. Booner is are new Rose except Rose produced for one playoff.

Trading Tony last summer made sense in a lot of ways. This team needed a major shakeup and he was the least important player of the Big 3

First of all, it is possible that this is Tony's attempt to help shake up the team, and make it better.

But if there is a desire by the front office to trade Tony, the window is certainly not closed on a trade. Tony retains tremendous value, and there are teams, such as the Lakers, who would drool over the prospect of obtaining Tony. For example, from the viewpoint of their cash value, we could obtain Lamar Odom and Ron Artest in a straight up trade for Tony. Odom would give us a versatile valuable asset at the power forward position and Ron Artest would provide that lockdown defender that we have been missing ever since Bowen left the team.
However, how would we replace Tony? George Hill is not a viable replacement for Tony Parker. Chris Quinn is a backup guard. We could get Steve Blake from the Lakers, but he's a backup point guard too.

So, if we trade Tony Parker we face the issue of replacing him at the point guard position. I'm not convinced that is the right thing to do.

That is where we will disagree I think Hill is a capable replacement and in crunch time Manu gets the ball not Parker. The year Parker was injured the best offense the Spurs played is when Hill was the starting PG.

I think Hill would be adequate with a solid PG behind him and I would want nothing to do with Odom or Artest

I like George Hill. But I see him more as a shooting guard than a point guard. He has a tendency to stay in 1 spot while he dribbles instead of getting the ball moving around the court.
And Hill didn't exactly shine in the playoffs, eg. 26.7% from the 3 point line compared to 37.9% during the regular season, FG% game 1: 30%, game 6: 28.6%.
I'm not lobbying for Odom and Artest, just giving an example of what we might could get for Tony.

The main problem with trying to trade Tony for a big is his replacement. Hill is more of a tweener than Tony. If you trade for a big then you have to try and get a veteran PG somewhere for dirt cheap. Using the Odom/Artest as an example, too, what is going to help the Spurs best is acquiring players with NBA playoff experience. Some obscure draft pick big or SF won't work. There is no time to develop and wait until 2013.

That aside I don't think trading Tony is a good idea. If they can't trade Jefferson or Bonner/Blair the Spurs are screwed.

And I agree, Dripping Springs, I think Tony was trying to help shake up the team. We'll see how it plays out.

Hey ryno, sure I'll give you guys a hand with the translation, sorry for the delay, I'll post a translation whenever I get the chance. Thx for asking!
lol a little late like our help-defense against Zebo right?
I'm still hurting over the loss, but the Lakers getting swept smoothes the pain a great deal.
But, again, Nowitzki getting 2x 40+ games is getting on my goddamn nerves, although slumps happen right?

He's giving props to the Bulls and Joaquim for their strong season, that he's going to root for them in the playoffs.
As for his comments at the beginning about the end of the Spurs season :
It was very frustrating for us to end the season that way...
It was hard to deal with that (don't buy the translation about Pop there)
That we are gonna have to make some changes to our team to make sure we are gonne be ready for next season.
For the time being I don't know what's going to happen, but I have confidence that Pop's gonna bring some good players for next season, so we'll see.
After that he talks about the French national team, that Joa is the missing piece for the national team.
