Spurs Announce Summer League Roster

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs announced their roster that will participate in the 2010 NBA Summer League, which runs from July 9-18 in Las Vegas. This year’s roster includes five players that were on the Spurs 2009-10 roster, including All-Rookie Second Team selection DeJuan Blair, Malik Hairston, Alonzo Gee, Curtis Jerrells and Garrett Temple. The Spurs 2010 draft picks, James Anderson and Ryan Richards, are not on the team’s summer league roster.

The NBA Summer League will be held at the Cox Pavilion and the Thomas & Mack Center on UNLV’s campus. Twenty-two NBA teams will compete in this year’s NBA Summer League. For the second consecutive year, a team of NBA Development League Select players will also participate in the action.

I understand that James Anderson is not on the roster(hamstring) but not sure why Ryan Richards isn't there.

This is probably James Gists last chance at a roster spot, hopefully he worked more on his ball handling and shooting (Spurs want him to be more of a SF, he was a PF in college) over in Europe.

Temple who at the time was playing the best on both sides, came around the side lines and sprained his ankle was taken to the locker room. Pop quit his conversation with Alvin Gentry immediately and went to the back to check on him.

Then a few plays later on a fast break, Gist stepped on the foot of someone and sprained his ankle but he is still playing
