No Aggies were drafted during the NBA draft last Thursday, but that doesn't mean that a couple of Aggies won't get a shot at the NBA. Seniors Bryan Davis (Spurs) and Donald Sloan (Kings) were both invited to summer league camps to get a shot at making their respective teams.
Bryan Davis (6'9/250 Power Forward) will get an opportunity to impress the San Antonio Spurs and other teams starting July 9 in Las Vegas. Davis filled up the stat sheet this year averaging 9.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.7 bpg, 1.5 apg, and 1.3 spg. He shined during the NCAA tournament in the loss vs. Purdue when he scored 17 and grabbed 15 rebounds. Davis will have a hard time making the Spurs roster with DeJuan Blair and Antonio McDyess ahead of him on the depth chart, but if he can work hard during Summer League, other teams will take notice.
Donald Sloan (6'3/205 Point Guard) is invited to the Sacramento Kings camp after having a stellar 2009-10 season that made him First team All-Big 12. Sloan averaged 17.8 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and 2.3 apg improving by six points a game over the '08-'09 season. Like Davis, Sloan will have a hard time making the roster but could fight for the #3 PG role on the team behind ROY Tyreke Evans and Beno Udrih.
