Horry won't be resigned by Spurs ?

Brent Barry has officially signed with the Houston Rockets, and GM Daryl Morey called Barry their top prospect. A little scary until you consider they're saving their MLE to match any offer Carl Landry might receive, so that's all they had money to do. . .Robert Horry wants to play another year, but the Spurs have reportedly told him they aren't interested. Horry may find himself retired one way or the other . . .Orlando Magic GM Otis Smith has set his sights on re-signing big man Adonal Foyle . . .the Warriors have given Ronny Turiaf a contract offer big enough to all but assure the Lakers won't match. $4 million to the Warriors becomes $8 million in luxury tax alone to the Lakers, who are already over the threshold. . .and yes - there are several reports that the Rockets and Pistons are close to a McGrady deal. Let me say it again:

Last year he has a lot of famliy issues and was injured, so in my mind it isn't representative of what he can do.

i agree.. in game 7 against the hornets.. he didn't look old.. in fact he was up to his "old" ways hitting big shots. if they can sign him to a minimum, it would be ok. unless, they feel that ian mahinmi can step in and produce good numbers. but even then, he would be a good insurance policy.

Yeah. Didn't he hit a couple threes?
I really do hope the Spurs bring him back.

I don't think money is really the issue with Horry. It's whether the Spurs want to give him a roster spot. I think the max you can have on your team is 15. Horry is the least of the Spurs concerns right now anyway. I think right now they are focusing on resigning Kurt Thomas. Horry will be dealt with later. With Turiaf most likely leaving LA for Golden State, LA will push hard for Kurt Thomas. If the Spurs can get anywhere close to what LA offers Thomas then I bet he'll stay. He's got a great chance to start in SA, but in LA he will be coming off the bench assuming Bynum is finally healthy.

I think what will be interesting is if LA can trade Odom for Ron Artest. The Lakers already had a stout defense, but if you put Artest in there then they probably have the best defense in the league. The Spurs struggled to score against the Lakers this year. Imagine how much they would struggle to score against the Lakers with Artest in the mix. Very scary.

Hmmm LA didn't have a great defense last season, that was a main issue, I think they allowed over a hundred points per game. They had a stellar offense, but defense not so much, especially in the post. If their D was so great they wouldn't have allowed 130 points in Game 6 of the Finals.

Now granted the Spurs offense went to crap which helped LA look a lot better, and the refs allowed Vujacic to reach in on Ginobili a hundred times with no call.

That's how I remember it.

i agree with SA Sizzle.. that's how i remember it. vujacic got away with whatever he wanted on D. i really don't think the kings would trade artest to the lakers.. why send one of your top players to a rival? i don't get it. you don't want a rival, especially one of your biggest rivals to get even better. if i was the kings owners/gm i would in no way make this move.. stupid stupid move.
