Jermaine O'Neal sees himself being traded
By J.E. Skeets
Pacers center Jermaine O'Neal was a guest on The Monty Show on Sporting News Radio yesterday. It's an excellent interview, most notably for JO's remarks on where he sees himself in the Pacers' immediate future. The ($20 million) money quote:

"I really believe if it comes down to them totally rebuilding, I believe that they will move me. That's pretty much the consensus thought I got from the ownership and management before I left Indianapolis. I don't think it's going to come down to a situation where we got to go back and forth, back and forth for me to be moved on, because they've just totally re-hauled the team. I think if they're going to re-haul the team, then they will move me, and move me to another team that has a chance of winning a championship."

Hey, remember when O'Neal was headed to the Lakers? Yeah, me neither, Kupchak.

hmmm.. that might be interesting to see: tim duncan and jermaine o'neal.. if only o'neal would stay healthy, and i think with some true stars and help around him it could work. i'm dreaming, i know, but hey there's nothing wrong with that.

I'd love to have him but we really don't have anything to offer of value.

Yes Finley is got paid $3,103,000 by the Spurs last year. Cuban paid him the remaining $18,593,750, both contracts are up now.

I'd love to have Jermaine O'Neal, but I don't see the Pacers trading with us without asking for one of the Big Three in return, something I would be against.

I noticed that of the Top 20 paid players, only 5 of them have at least one ring and only 2 have Finals MVP (not counting the potential outcome of the current Finals). Most of that list have not earned their paychecks or even close to it.

Finley got 3 million too much from us regardless of what he is getting from Cuban. I REALLY hope he isn't back next year. He is a big part of why teams would go on crazy runs everytime our main players sat down. He plays no defense whatsover and can't guard his own butt with both hands, :frown:
