The rumor has it that New Jersey, Portland and LA are talking about a trade that would send Kidd to LA.
I am thinking that it would most likely involve Magloire and Odom as well as Kidd. Also, 1 or 2 more players would have to come from LA to Portland. Maybe McKie (and his expiring contract), or I'm thinking Portland might demand a little better return and get Brian Cook and Shammond Williams (and his expiring contract).

That trade seems like it would benefit all 3 teams.
The Nets realize that they aren't going anywhere soon. Magloire would be gone at the end of the season and swapping Odom for Kidd would give them a younger starting player, for less payroll. It would also make them feel better about trading Carter for some younger players.
The Lakers would benefit quite a bit. Though Odom can be a great player, the Lakers did not seem to miss him when he was injured. His decision making can be questionable at times, and what the Lakers really need is solid play at the 1. Parker just does not cut it.
Portland would save some money by losing Magloire, and they would either get a cheap quality backup 4 in Cook, or a smaller payroll in 2007-2008 (if they got back McKie).
