The representatives of Jorge Garbajosa are negotiating with the Raptors to get him out of Toronto. As.com
According to Spanish media reports the Raptors are negotiating a buyout of the last year of Garbajosa's contract with the NBA team, worth $4.25-million, which would officially end a relationship that started with considerable promise but effectively ended with a severe leg injury suffered in March of 2006. Raptors president Bryan Colangelo acknowledged Wednesday that he's in on-going negotiations with the Spanish basketball federation over settling a dispute arising from the 6-foot-9 forward's injury, but refused to provide specifics. "It's too early to talk about," he said. Toronto Globe and Mail
"The buyout would be part of an all-inclusive resolution," said a Raptors source. "The amount would be enough that, combined with whatever he might be able to sign for in Spain, would leave Garbajosa whole.
The Spurs could try and get him. He seems like a nice fit for the Spurs. Another foreigner wouldn't hurt.
