Roger Mason Jr. ?

Roger Mason Jr. ?

Postby 1kangaroo on Thu Jul 03, 2008 8:25 am

I exchanged a few text messages with Roger Mason Jr. just as he was getting on a plane to visit an interested team this afternoon. The Wizards hope to bring Mason back, but he is also entertaining inquiries from seven other teams, including the New Jersey Nets and San Antonio Spurs. Mason implied his agent didn't want him to say what team he was visiting, and when reached a short time later, Mark Bartelstein said the team didn't want word to get out yet that Mason was visiting. So stay tuned ...

Got this from Hoops hype which links to an article about gilbert it is part of that article

Roger Mason is a 6'5" combo guard who had a bit of a breakout season with the Wizards last year. He is a good shooter, shooting a career average of .374 from downtown and .874 from the line. He also doesn't hesitate to chuck up the ball. Last year he ranked 6th in the League in 3 point shots per 48 mins. and unline Antoine Walker he puts almost 40% of them in th hole. He can create off the dribble but is not an impressive athlete. He has played some ball overseas but it now looks like he is going to stick in the NBA for a while.

Who would have thought the impact that Mason Jr. had on the team this year. Even though he didn't perform very well in the playoffs; I'm glad he's on our team! Thanks for some great moments this year Roger Mason JRRRR!!

he would have had a bigger impact if Pop would have noticed 2 things:

1. He didn't play the back up PG spot well, he was better at receiving passes off screens at the SG spot.

2. He never shot well in a game when he came off the bench, that is why I didn't like when Pop started Bowen over Mason. It should have been Parker, Mason, Bowen, Duncan, and Bonner

Added RJ to the list until both start hitting 3s consistently and/or traded...
