Spurs offer Delfino 2 year deal

probably for the LLE or they may split the MLE if Maggette doesn't sign with the Spurs so this is a way to have a back up plan, probably plan C or D

If the agreement takes shape, the Spurs is going to have to include in the design of their t-shirt the celestial color between the target and the black. To Manu Ginóbili and Fabricio Oberto them the santafesino Carlos Delfino can be added.

From last night the equipment of the NBA they were qualified to put in the market of free and free players with restrictions, as it is the case of Carlitos, almost discarded by Toronto Raptors for season 08/09, although still it maintains right on the player and the possibility of equaling an economic supply of another tax exemption.

The representative of Delfino, Cerisola Angel, confirmed that the Spurs did “a supply to him by two seasons. He is evaluating himself because Carlos a little looks for an agreement more length, by three years”. San Antonio, in addition, handles like other possibilities for the eaves position the names of Mickael Pietrus (Golden Delicious State), James Jones (Portland), James Posey (Boston) or Quintin Ross (the Clippers).

Also, Delfino received rough estimates of leaders of Cleveland and Orlando. In addition, outside the NBA, the Khimky of Russia, equipment in which was Rubén Wolkowyski two seasons ago, approached a propose millionaire to him. In any case the intention of the santafesino is to remain a time more in the league of the United States and if it is accompanied by Manu and Fabri far better.

As far as the selected one, Cerisola said that Delfino will appear Friday in the concentration in spite of not having sport surely effective. We hope that one reaches fast an agreement with some equipment to be prote'ge'. If the situation stretches and arrives the moment for traveling to China I do not know what can happen. It wants to be in the Selection, although it runs physical risks. There is no way of which the CABB does an insurance therefore money to him. One will train in differentiated form until it fixes in San Antonio

i'm not really huge on delfino....i do think we should make a strong run at posey though...i know he's 31yrs old..but the man can play shut down defense, can hit bigtime 3's and hustles more then anyone on the court most games....

yeah Posey would be one of my top options, but the thing is , we need someone that can start at SG, to rest manu during the regular season, I don't see Posey playing starting minutes , he would get tired pretty quickly

Our targets should be:
1)Maggette
2)Delfino

I'd sign Maggette first and if he signs somewhere else then go for Delfino and another young guard.

If we manage to get both, then we are gonna have a very solid, younger, athletic deep back court. Let's make this happen. :jam2:

Since the Jermaine O'neal trade the Raptors have pretty much said that they wouldn't be bringing Delfino back. There are reports that Carlos is considering going back to Europe. If this is for the LLE it would be a very good signing. Delfino has good athletic ability, can shoot and has nice size and rebounding abilities for a guard.

I think he is a restricted free agent, isn't he?

There is a chance, after the tax number comes out, that the Raptors withdraw their qualifying offer to Carlos Delfino, which will make him an unrestricted free agent. (And before the hooting and hollering starts again, the Raptors ARE NOT going to re-sign him, they don’t have the money, don’t really want that kind of clutter on the roster again and it’s not going to change). Toronto Star

With an eye toward bolstering the team's depth along the perimeter, the Pistons have been in contact with several free-agent swingmen around the league -- including a former player, Carlos Delfino. The NBA's free-agency signing period begins today, but the Pistons will not be in the market for big names, such as power forward Elton Brand. Instead, the team is looking for depth behind small forward Tayshaun Prince or shooting guard Rip Hamilton. A team source said Tuesday the Pistons have talked to Delfino, whom the Pistons traded to Toronto in 2007 for draft picks after he had three years of inconsistent play and minutes. Detroit Free Press

Anyway, I’m told Delfino has had at least one very financially lucrative offer in Europe but that he wants to remain in the NBA if at all possible and there are a couple of teams sniffing around and perhaps willing to pay him close to what he wants. I’m not sure what his salary goal is but he made about $1.8 million last year so I’d think a three-year deal for around $7 million might be around his asking price. Toronto Star
