ESPN -
The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod to the Indiana Pacers for Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell, NBA front-office sources tell ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

The trade is scheduled to be announced later Wednesday

OK, this is good for the Spurs. Maggette lost a potential suitor in Golden State. Come on Pop. The stars are aligning to get Maggette. Make it happen. Ship Udrih and Barry and sign free agent rookie PG Will Conroy out of the D-League.

It certainly would appear that way. I wonder why the Pacers made this trade? They must be pretty high on Dunleavy, Murphy, or both. McLeod is definitely a throw-in. Diogu might be an OK undersized PF backup someday, but not much more than that, and isn't that just about what Josh Powell is?

If you look at the main players, I would much rather have Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson than Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy. Maybe they felt they had to get rid of Jackson because of his on the court and off the court antics?

I totally agree with Wolf.I really like this deal because it does takes GS off the Maggette trading options.

The Warriors also got "Saras"(the former European MVP) who can be a nice backup PG.

The Pacers did get Murphy and he can be a good bigman in the East.

I wonder if there are more trades coming after this deal. The Warriors end up with a bunch of 2 guards with Ellis, Jax and Richardson. It will be interesting to see what Nellie does with the starting lineup. Richardson or Jax can play the SF position but I'm not to sure either of them will be happy coming off the bench and in my opinion Ellis wouldn't be as effective coming off the bench because he lacks the versatility that the Buckets and JRich bring. Also how about Stephen Jackson going to Oakland. Wow if he can find trouble in Indy, it should be just a matter of time before he is popping off some caps in Oaktown.

On the other hand the Pacers now have virtually no shooting guards. Who will get the start Daniels, Granger? I wonder if they are looking to send Dunleavy Jr. off to play with his dad in exchange for Maggette.

Hah, hah, hilarious comment on the Jax in Oaktown.

I imagine the Warriors are really going to push hard to get rid of Richardson. They will probably just look for expiring contracts and not care at all about value.

The Pacers will almost certainly start Granger.

I imagine they'll go with:

PG Tinsley
W Granger
W Dunleavy
PF Murphy
C O'Neal

Key reserves: SG Daniels, FC Foster, F Baston, PG Armstrong, PG McLeod

It is an interesting lineup, in that even though it has some decent size, it can still run, and most of those guys have decent range. Granger is versatile. He is definitely quick enough to defend most 2-guards and will give teams fits on the other end. Man, I wish Granger were a Spur.

You are right that they are short on 2-guards now. That would be pretty interesting if they shipped Dunleavy for Maggette, but why wouldn't they have just done a 3 team trade at the outset?
