where are our future draft picks going ??

The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have acquired Melvin Ely from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Eric Williams and a second round pick in 2009.

Where are all the draft picks going?? Duncan will be retired by 2009 !! Is Pop really thinking at all on these "trades" that they're giving away ?

Spurs are the highest paid team in the NBA, yet they STILL SUCK. Well, I guess if you want a decent trade, you'll have to offer up someone like Bowen, Horry, or Ginobili (all old).

We WANT to get players in the draft, but the Spurs are giving them all away in STUPID TRADES.

Relax, Duncan and the Spurs will both be very good in 2008. This will make the 2009 second round pick that was traded away almost meaningless. Its not too often a Manu Ginobili comes around and even if he is there it doesn't mean the Spurs will be lucky enough to pick him after so many other teams pass. The Spurs still have plenty of draft picks and Prospects they have already drafted.

In this 2007 upcoming draft alone the Spurs have a first rounder, their second rounder, the better of the Bucks two second rounders and the Bulls second rounder if the Bulls finish with one of the top 9 records in the league.

The Spurs also own the rights to the following players:

Ian Mahinmi
Luis Scola
Robertas Javtokas
Sergei Karaulov
Viktor Sanikidze

The Spurs may be old and a bit disapointing this season but they hardly "SUCK". After next season this team will have some roster spots and some cap room available and will be able to reload.
