Would you trade for Andrei Kirilenko?

I thought I would ask if you would trade for AK47 if he was available.

Miller irked with Kirilenko on court, complaints off it
Associated Press

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller said Andrei Kirilenko, his highest-paid player, is "putting himself on thin ice" with inconsistent play and complaints about his role on the team.

Miller said he cringes during some of Kirilenko's jump shots.

"I'd almost like to call his bluff, say 'OK, automatically we're going to leave you out there. You're going to take 20 shots a night five games in a row. And then we'll see,"' Miller told radio station 1280 AM.

"That would resolve the issue," Miller said Thursday. "He's either going to make them or he's not."

After a meeting with coaches Tuesday, Kirilenko said he sometimes doesn't feel like he's on the floor.

"I just go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth and I go to sleep," he said.

Miller didn't like it.

"I would have to say he's putting himself on thin ice," the owner told the radio station. "The combination of not playing very well and shooting his mouth off -- that's not a good combination."

But Kirilenko sounded positive after nine points and seven rebounds Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons. He's averaging 9.1 points per game.

"I feel I'm much more in game now," he said. "I hope it goes on for few games now."

absolutely not, manu with the addition of Parker and duncan can not be touched. Plus their are other SF options out there that wont risk the big three.

Why not? I mean of course if the Jazz would like a bunch of players that are not Duncan-Tony-Manu.

Kirilenko is a player the Spurs system would love to have.He is great on defense and can shoot the ball well.He is young and athletic.

I'd trade Bowen,Barry and the rights for Scola for him.

First off, the next time Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller shuts his mouth will be first. Geez, is there anybody on the team that he hasn't thrown under the bus to the media? If the big, bad AK47 is such a bane of Miller's existence, I'm sure there's a lot of teams out there that will be more than happy to soothe his pain. And I'm all for it if it means I don't hear another soundbite from Miller about how his team is terrible and he'd trade everybody if he could. Mark Cuban thinks this guy runs his mouth way too much.

I feel bad for AK - he carried that team for years when they truly sucked and this is his reward? I can't imagine the Spurs doign that to uncan when he had an off year, esp due to injury.

The question wasn't if you would trade for AK, it was if you would trade Manu for AK and the answer to that has to be a resounding no - first of all I don't think th Jazz would really do it.

I would say it would take Manu and Eric Williams to get AK47 here. Our offense struggles enough without making a deal like this. I wouldn't do it.

AK has sucked this year, but he's starting to play better. and I don't think the Jazz would give him up for the crap suggested here. Utah would likely want Bowen, and Ginobili in return. AK's contracts pretty big, so you couldn't just give the Jazz the guys at the end of your bench in return for him.

You guys might be able to get Jarron Collins for next to nothing though.

Jazz Recieve Calls On Kirilenko
23rd January, 2007 - 11:59 am
Deseret News -
Larry Miller's public frustration with Andrei Kirilenko's play has prompted Kevin O'Connor to receive calls from multiple teams inquiring about his availability.

"It's totally unwarranted," said O'Connor, the Jazz's basketball operations senior vice president. "So, let's put this to bed: We are not looking to trade Andrei Kirilenko. Period."

Kirilenko Doesn't Want To Be Dealt
5th February, 2007 - 9:49 am
Deseret News -
There is a growing perception that Andrei Kirilenko wants to be traded or believes he will be dealt.

"I said, 'There is always possibility to be traded,"' said Kirilenko, who admittedly has struggled this season and who is Utah's highest-paid player. "That's my point. I don't want to be traded, and I don't want to move to another team. It's not like I want to be traded.

"But," added Kirilenko, who turns 26 four days before the NBA's Feb. 22 NBA trade deadline, "there always is possibility for the player who has huge contract and (is) not playing on the highest note. ... That's the point: Nobody in NBA secure, like 100 percent. Everybody can be traded, everybody can be moved. So I am ready for any kind of turn in my career."
