Nobody better blame the refs? Are you kidding me? Did you just not watch that game? They called that game so tight it was a miracle the Mavs didn't win by 20 points! The Spurs are not a good freethrow shooting team, the Mavs are, the refs turned it into a freethrow shooting contest and...surprise...the Mavs won. It was only that the Spurs are such a better team in so many other areas that they lead for most of the game. <p></p><i></i>

Refs do not shoot free throws. There is no conspiracy. Mavs played better down the stretch. Scratch that. Spurs choked,as they have made a habit of doing this year.<br>

Great but did you notice that 98 freethrows in a game is a rather large number? Did you not notice that they were calling fouls for breathing? It was indiscriminate, yes, but if they let the Spurs (and Mavs for that matter) play defense, the Silver and Black would have continued to dominate. This was less of a meltdown than the first loss to the Suns. The Spurs will destroy the Mavs with a looser officiating crew. <p></p><i></i>

I agree - the tempo of the game was definitely favoring the Mvs with all the ticky tack calls. Yes Spurs should have hit free throws, but 98 free throws is way beyond excessive. At one point we had 5 players in fould trouble - absolutely rediculous! <p></p><i></i>

Listen, guys, you can't have it both ways. There were certainly more fouls called tonight than usual, but it was mostly even for both teams.<br>

The difference was - the Mavs made their shots. We didn't. <br>

Surely no one is suggesting that there should be fewer fouls called on the Spurs since they are poor FT shooters. It was a consistently called game.<br>

Nellie did a commendable job of exploiting our Achilles heel. And we shot ourselves in the other foot.<br>

It was just a lame performance by the Spurs. They blew a big lead and thought that since they`d come back on tough Phoenix and LA teams that they`d find a way. But the fouls added up and so did the coaching brainfarts. I guess hindsight is 20/20, so I won`t rip the coach too much. What a waste of a TimVP performance.
