David's AWESOME projected retirement numbers

David's AWESOME projected retirement numbers

Postby alamo50 on Sat Jan 04, 2003 11:18 am

These are the projected numbers David is gonna have behind His name after the last regular season game April 16th 2003 at home vs. the Dallas Mavericks:

1,000+ games (started in all of those 1,000+ except just 2)
34,000+ minutes
21,000+ points
10,500+ rebounds
3,000+ blocks
2,450+ assists
1,400+ steals

......................................................

Ok after you caught your breath again let's focus on this:
All of the achievements above are legitimate goals which can be the final numbers for The Admiral.
2 categories David needs to maintain his course he is sailing right now 33 games into the season being points and blockshots.

Right now David has 20,555 points and 2,908 blocks.
This season he is averaging 9.4 points and 1.97 blocks a game thusfar.

This means for the remaining 49 games to be played David needs to average 9.08 points a game to end up with 21,000 for his career.

Looking at the blockshots David needs 92 more to end up with 3,000 for his career.
This means for the remaining 49 games to be played David needs to average 1.88 blocks a game to end up with 3,000 for his career.

Can anybody tell me which other player in the history in the NBA ended up with all that?

I am praying for David to remain healthy for the rest of the season so he can step it up one more time in the last play-offs the gentleman above the boys will ever take part in.

A royal salute to The Admiral for everything he has done, is doing and will continue to do long after his bball days are over.

GO DAVID GO!!!

Edited by: Blondie4Spurs at: 1/5/03 1:04:36 pm

I believe it. you are so the man. Here is some stuff, however David did not do...

b**** about money
drugs
father kids with various women
refer to himself in the third person
aired dirty laundry in the media
put himself ahead of the team.
Outstanding post, alamo50!!

And remember that David has done this in only 14 years (actually 13 when you consider that he played only six games one year.)

I compared your stats to the all-time leaders in each category:

1,000 games - Robert Parish leads with 1611 games but it took him 21 years.

34,000 minutes - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played 57,446 minutes but it took him 20 years.

21,000 points - There are only 20 people in the history of the league that have scored more than 21,000 points no matter how many years they've played.

10,500 rebounds -Wilt Chamberlain leads the rebounders with 23,924 and 10th place is held by Buck Williams with 13,017. So you know David has got to be in the top 15.

3,000 blocks - David is now in 6th place. If he gets the 3,000 there will be only three who have out-blocked him: Hakeem Olajuwan - 3652; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - 3189; and Mark Eaton - 3064.

2450 assists - John Stockton is 1st (and adding to his total nightly) with over 14,000. 11th place is Kevin Johnson with 6711. I think all thise guys are guards. I bet David is the leader in assists for centers and forwards!

1400 steals - John Stockton leads here, too, with 2844 and counting. 10th place is Isiah Thomas with 1861.

www.basketball.com/nba/records/index.shtml

Anyway you look at it, David has had a stellar career!!!

Edited by: rilyman at: 1/4/03 11:59:21 pm

Thanx rilyman!!!

But can you also show me the players that have the same numbers as David in each and every single category for their careers?
I know The Dream had the better numbers, but he also got 10,222 more minutes to get those numbers in AND he has almost always been the leading scorer for his team.

Exactly, alamo!! No one player can come near David's production in so many categories no matter how many years they've played.

Vince Carter may be half-man and half-amazing, but David Robinson is ALL man and ALL amazing!

dave has those Stats cos he is the man! I hate anyone who disses him...

But, those stats would be even better, if the Spurs didnt have a coach that has wasted him for the Last 2 years. Sad actually.
"When I grow up, I want to be a principal or a caterpillar." - Ralph Wiggum
MI21, Pop didn't waste David by any means.
Pop took away the offensive load from David's back, but David himself didn't know how to handle playing that kind of basketball.

David did a step back because he saw that Timmy would be a better player than himself and just last season David accepted that he wouldn't be needed for scoring anymore.
That's where he decided it would be time for one more year of his brilliant defense.

This is David's year.
Timmy picked up the slack a few weeks ago and is playing like the MVP he is and very well could be again.
Tony is finally seeing that he needs to be aggresive every night to complement Timmy on the offense.
Bruce is the key player in defense shutting down the starplayer on the opposite side.
Malik will get his shot back soon and be even more pumped up in the minutes he gets to hussle his way to the boards.
Manu and Speedy will bring us the depth from the bench and our deadly shooters are always ready to man the canons.
And than of course there is Kevin to provide David with some rest during the games and I wouldn't want any other player in the world different from him backing up David right now.

COME ON SAN ANTONIO!
LET'S DO THIS FOR THE ADMIRAL!!!

GO SPURS GO!!!

I wish I had your optimism Alamo on the Spurs chances of a championship for Dave this season. But Dave just isnt being utilized.

Dave could be that second scorer IMO that the Spurs need. I see flashes when he is given the ball, but he isnt fed the ball enough. His defense is almost the best in the league IMO, but I would take his D being a bit worse, if it meant more load on the offensive end. I think he could do both actually. Or maybe i'm just a Dave homer?
"When I grow up, I want to be a principal or a caterpillar." - Ralph Wiggum
