Did anyone else turn off the T.V?

When they cut the lead to 8?
I sure as hell did! I just couldn't take another possible nightmare.

It was a win, but man. Losing a 28 point lead?
I guess it's gonna be that kind of series. Gonna have to double up on the heart meds!

Not at all. Just like Tim said:

Press: What do you think about when your 28 point lead gets cut to 8 points?

Tim: Im thinking we are still up by 8.
-Brian

No way. The Spurs were not going to lose that one. I was only mad that my 20 point win projection was going by the wayside.

I was confident too Wolf. I didn't even realize the lead was down to eight before it was pointed out. It didn't matter because I knew the Spurs would pull it out.

Oh man, I started having flashbacks when Dallas started hitting those crazy threes, and I was covering my face when we were bricking free throws in the fourth. But yeah, a win is a win!

I know we keep blowing leads, but I do like the fact that we're coming out aggressive and taking those huge leads in the first place! I keep hearing Kenny Smith say that if we get in the 30's in the first quarter than we are in trouble, but hey, the Mavs are playing horrible defense, so it's not like we can help it!

These two games were kinf of like the first two games in the Suns series, IMO. Hopefully we will be able to focus more in the second half playing on the road.

Never a doubt in your minds huh? Yeah right. If it were my team and they had blown as many leads as they have you better believe I'd have been worried. And I bet deep down you probably were too. But Hey thats just natural. No reason to deny it. Anyone would have said the same.

We've blown leads, but never a game we needed. The Mavs cannot beat this focused Spurs team. I think the Mavs got the Spurs' attention by stealing game 1. Despite that rude wakeup call, I honestly think that the Spurs can win out this series.

I'm not denying anything. I have no reason to. I never believed the Spurs would lose that game, even with the Mavs on their little run. I don't appreciate the insinuation that I am lying about that.

I really believe that if the Spurs are not saddled by foul trouble, and the refs are not calling the game ridiculously tight, the Spurs can get the defensive stops they need to close out the Mavs when they are up in the 4th. To be honest, Kobe is much scarier to face in that situation than the entire Mavericks team.

Also, we know that the Mavs cannot stop the Spurs on the other end of the floor. The Mavs had a run based on some turnovers, hot 3 point shooting, missed frethrows, or flukish missed shots (that one where three Spurs missed makeable shots and the Mavs finally ended up with the ball). The Mavs just aren't a team that can dig in and get a key defensive stop (no Duncan's missed skyhook in game 1 was not due to good defense). Instead they usually have to foul.

We're getting better at handling their runs. If I were Dallas, I'd be concerned about falling behind by so much so early in both games. Yes...they stole one. But you can't spend the whole series playing from behind (see Lakers).

I was nervous and upset about YABL(Yet Another Blown Lead). This is getting old. But what if the first two games are a trend? Maybe the Mavs can only make up about 20 points when they start firing away from the Land of Make Three-Lieve and start zoning up on Tim in the paint. Spurs would then need a 21 point lead at the half of each game.

We should remember that it is the Mavs that lost a 30-pt lead to the Lamers in the 4th quarter earlier in the year. We should be outscoring them in that quarter.

I think the Spurs get thrown out of their game because when they are focused in the first half, they completely blow these Mavs out of the gym like they were a college team. Showbe said that is the Spurs weakness, protecting leads in the 2nd half.

If the Spurs could somehow add the 1st halfs of both games 1 and 2, and put it together for the 48 minutes of Game 3, then we win going away by about 45 points on their home court, with or without the refs.
--

But the Spurs have been blowing leads the whole seasonand look what happened to them. They started from way behind and then was able to catch up and beat out the Mavs for the number one spot, and then go on and win the first two series against the Suns and the Lakers. As long as they pull out more W's than the other team and winn the series, that is ultimately what really matters.
I don't think you can blow out a team like Dallas from start to finish. They have too many offensive weapons and will always make a run at you. You can however, just as easily come back on them from a large deficit because of their fragile defense. Yes I was nervous in the 4th quarter last night, but I had faith that the Spurs would persevere! You could see in the eyes of Duncan, Rose, Parker and the rest!!

well, this was a "must" win for the spurs, hats off to them for taking care of their business. all that matters is having a 1 pt lead when the final buzzer goes off

It's the NBA, the game always goes down to the 4th quarter because all the teams are professionals. The truth becomes even more evident when it's the top two teams playing.

The fans at the games don't get scared. They weren't scared for the Fakers, and they weren't scared last night. A better description would be angry, we know what our Spurs are capable of (see game 6 against the Fakers).

Maybe the best way to communicate how Spurs fans feel is to find a similar example for the Mavs fans. Did the 29 point lead the Mavs blew against the Fakers make you feel scared or angry?
