Free throw contest (Dallas 1-- Spurs 0)

Postby Spuratic1 on Tue May 20, 2003 9:02 am

I hope Wednesday we can see the better team... I have no respect for Don Nelson and his BS play calling... It tells me they know they can't beat the Spurs headup...
The refs called a TIGHT game. We cant win against this team in a tightly called game if we are going to settle for jump shots.

In the huddle Pop tells the boys to head for the basket. Next posession, Malik gets the ball 10 feet from the rim and stands there like he's fricken Rain Man.
-Brian

Malik has been sub-par for quite some time now. He's playing like a rookie.

I really hate it when I see Malik slamming the ball down in frustration before an inbounds. When I see that, I just know he's out of it, and he's not coming back. Usually it's a harbinger of bad things, like a Spurs loss or a near comeback by the Lakers.

I want to see more Kevin Willis out there.

i have no respect for Pop and not playing Bowen in the closing minutes...It tells me they know that they can't beat the mavs with that liability on the floor!

We shall see coachshaft. A real student of the game would realize that a gimmicky strategy coupled with some of the tightest officiating ever seen lead to a narrow Mavericks victory. I hope you stick around after the Mavs lose.

Actually, coachaft, we welcome fans of opposing teams here. Hopefully, you'll bring intelligent, civil discussion about your team.
Spurs Central prides itself on it's tolerance, including trolls like you. It's full of great posters making great posts.

You could actually learn the meaning of tolerance if you stuck around. (or actually read any of the threads concerning the Spurs ticket sales). Feel free to make a counter post to my scalper posts if you are man enough. Personally, I think you're here to whine like a little baby (which you are also free to continue to do).
I've never denied that I am willing to lower myself to your or any other trolls level. Y'all don't have the ability to understand anything but the lowest common denominator, and I don't think it's possible for y'all to raise yourself to high bar most of the regulars have set.

I think missed free throws will haunt the Spurs again in this series.

Fouling in the 2nd was a good strategy because it kept Bowen off the floor late in the game. All Nelson wants to do is win. If it means playing the equivalent of 4 guards at the same time, he will. He'll also Hack-a-Bowen when he can't make free throws. He isn't prideful, and that's why players can make pre-game speeches and he had Paul Silas follow the team for 3 games against the Kings.
