i guess malik hitting bradleys forearm should be let go, why because the spurs are playing aggressive

and i guess its ok for duncan to swat dirks hand away, why, becaue the spurs are playing aggressive

and i guess its ok for malik to drive in and initiate the contact on dirk and get the call, why because the spurs are playing aggressive

The same as Van Exel pushing Bowen away, the same as Nowitski grabbing two defenders to keep them from jumping for a rebound, the same as Van Exel stepping inside the three point line and being awarded three free throws, the same as Nowitski falling down after Parker flies by him, see this game could go on and on. Each team can take issue with the calls--i.e. the technical on Van Exel appeared to me to be unwarranted. The Mavs beat the Spurs in game 1 and the Spurs beat the Mavs in game 2.

I guess you haven't seen many NBA teams play in the paint. There is going to be contact, what the ref has to decide is who intiated contact, and if it was intentional.

Maybe Dirk and the Mavs aren't getting valid calls because the refs think they are flopping?

Quote:
game 2, in the first half the calls were going all SA way, but it was the spurs home court so that is to be expected
Sorta. Both teams ended up with 36 fouls. San Antonio shot more free throws for obvious reasons. Makes what Van Exel said after the game sound even stupider than it did when he said it. Even if you think the refs decided the game for you, when you say something like 'the other team didn't beat us, the refs did,' you just sound like a whiner.

Edited by: elevate at: 5/22/03 12:50:30 pm
