Times have been tough for the #56 pick from the 2001 draft ever since he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident last year. Here's the most recent update on his status, it doesn't sound like Robertas or the Spurs have thrown in the towel.
Robertas in the States for removing screws
San Antonio (Texas, USA), 12 mar 2003
It's been some time we don't give you an update about Robertas Javtokas' rehabilitation: the Lithuanian big man is currently in the States under the tutoring of the San Antonio Spurs, the team which drafted him in 2001. He had yesterday another surgery at a San Antonio's hospital to remove all screws and plates he had in his body after the first operation. The surgery went well, as the doctors said, and now a period of 3-4 weeks of work in Texas is awaiting for the Lith youngster. No early preview can be made about his come back, but, at the moment, everything is going at full speed and great part in that has the Spurs' organization, which is taking care of Robertas as he was already in the team.
