Mouse, great to see you in here. You know you are always welcome.

I know that some people do not think that what you are doing constitutes 'bandwagoning', but it is my opinion that it does.

If you are a fan of a team then you are a fan of the team. Whether they are doing great or doing bad, no matter who is on the team or is part of the team.

As a fan you show passion for your team. That also means that as part of that passion you are allowed to criticize parts of the team.

But if you leave the fan base of a team merely because of someone that is part of the team, or because they are doing poorly, then in my mind that makes you a bandwagon fan.

Let me ask you this, if in the end two teams have essentially the same record then how do you quantify one team as a winning team and the other as a losing team?

I've got news for you. Whether the Mavs win or lose, or whether the Spurs win or lose, people will still laugh at you for immitating a real fan, a passionate fan.

While I don't agree with Mouse's opinion on pop, I do see the logic. It's similar to my view of the White Sox and Jerry Reinsdorf.

I refuse to give Jerry one more dollar of my income, and therefore won't buy any merchandise or attend any games. I'll return to the fold once Jerry sells his share of the ownership or dies.

Mouse has taken the idea and gone one step further by temporarily choosing another team (a well researched selection of an in state rival on the rise, and from the the perspective of his beef with Pop, the offense versus defense coaching, the antithesis of the Spurs).

Mouse,
I always enjoy your posts. Whether we agree or disagree, your posts are always well thought out and always humorous.

And I've been wondering, does anyone else think the Mavs logo and the Mav's point guard Nash have the same haircut?

Edited by: sisyphos2 at: 11/20/02 1:39:19 pm

Mouse is just being sarcastic, in reality he bleeds silver & black and can't get enough of the average-looking silver dancer chicks.
