In the first noteworthy trade of the off-season, Seattle dealt Vin Baker and Shammond Williams to Boston for Kenny Anderson, Vitaly Potapenko and Joseph Forte. At first glance, both squads seem to benefit – Boston gets a true 4, yet he just might return to his All-Star days as a 5 in the center-deprived East, while Seattle will have tons of cap room for the smoking 2003 Free Agent class. But upon further study, problems arise. We wonder, can Shammond actually play the point in Beantown, and where does Kenny Anderson fit in Seattle? ... When it rains in Seattle, it really pours. Following their acquisition of those three seemingly useless players, the Sonics tried to further self-destruct by seriously pissing off FA Rashard Lewis. The team offered him a seven-year, $49 million deal that sounds sweet to you and me but is $40 million less than what ’Shard wants. Dude is so enraged that word is he’s willing to except the mid-level exception just to spite the Sonics. Dallas, Chicago, Philly, New York and every other basketball team on the planet are suddenly interested … Last word about the Sonics. It’s likely GP isn’t going to get the contract extension he wants from the team. So in one day his squad traded away his best friend, Baker, added another point guard, Anderson, and refused to pay him. Bummer … There are other teams in the League that were making news yesterday. Toronto learned that Keon Clark isn’t interested in their $3 million qualifying order and made Keon an unrestricted FA. The Knicks lead a handful of teams interested in the player who most closely resembles a rubber band … From the If He Can Do It, So Can We Department, the Spurs re-signed Danny Ferry. The Smack Gods could manage 5 points and 2 boards a game with one arm tied behind our backs. Easy … Summer league action has slowed down since Shaw’s concluded, but we’ll still bring you the latest from the Rocky Mountain Revue. Nothing spectacular last night except for Juanny popping off for 28 on 9-16 shooting. It is summer, but expect to see big numbers out of Wagner come October … In Good Guys Finish First News, ’Zo won the League’s Citizenship Award. It’s a shame he’ll never win a championship … Follow-up: ‘Zo was one of 21 NBA players selected to a list of the good guys in sports. Among the notables: the formerly selfish Stack, the formerly promising John Amaechi, and ‘Toine. Big ups to the fellas for holding it down respectfully … In Bad Boys Finish Last News, there was a fire at Dennis Rodman's restaurant and dance club. No word yet on whether it was caused by Dennis’ lighter or Carmen Electra … Guess who’s back? Back again? It’s Slim, making news with his six nominations for the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. Missy Elliott and P.O.D. also grabbed six nods, but we’re sticking with Em. Peep the show for a performance from Dre's protege and an appearance from Shakira … We’re out like sleep in Seattle.
You need a few veterans around. I ws at MAVTALK last night and they had a thread entitled most hated players. Ferry was on almost everyone's list. That alone is readon enought to keep him

Good old Ferry.
I don't see how he's hated, did he do something to a Mavs player I'm unaware of?
<marquee><a T-Wolves Talk</marquee>

He frustrates a lot of teams and some even say he is a dirty player. His talent is geting under a players skin and that is a good reason to keep him.
