SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Phil Jackson will be back with the Los Angeles Lakers when they try to take a 3-2 lead over the San Antonio Spurs in their Western Conference semifinal series.

Jackson underwent an angioplasty on Saturday to unclog an artery blocked 90 percent and missed the Lakers' 99-95 triumph over the Spurs in Game Four at Staples Center on Sunday. Assistant Jim Cleamons took over the coaching duties in the contest.

Jackson has won nine NBA titles - six with Chicago between 1991-98 and the last three with the Lakers - to tie Red Auerbach for the most in league history.

The Lakers trailed by as many as 16 points late in the second half and 10 points midway through the third quarter on Sunday before they rallied behind Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.

In a fourth quarter that saw neither team lead by more than four points, the Lakers tied the game, 95-95, on a pair of free throws by O'Neal with 1:17 left. The All-Star center then stole a pass by Tim Duncan intended for Stephen Jackson in the paint with a minute remaining, and Bryant sank 1-of-2 free throws 12 seconds later to put the Lakers ahead for good.

After making two free throws to give the Lakers a 98-95 lead with 14 seconds left, Bryant then intercepted Tony Parker's terrible inbound pass to Manu Ginobili, and he hit 1-of-2 free throws to cap the scoring with 11 seconds left.

Bryant finished with 35 points and O'Neal had 29 and 17 rebounds for Los Angeles, which shot just 39 percent (28-of-71) but made 35-of-45 free throws while San Antonio made 20-of-26. Bryant went 14-of-17 from the stripe and O'Neal a surprising 17-of-23.

Duncan contributed 36 points and nine rebounds for the Spurs, who lost to the Lakers in five games in last season's conference semifinals.
