The Lakers main run before the half, where we lost our 16 point lead, was entirely engineered by the refs. In the 4th quarter, the Spurs could not buy a shooting foul, yet anytime a Spur defender was near a Laker they blew their whistles.
This won't look as extreme as Game 6 of 2002 WCF or that Wolves/Lakers game because there weren't a ton of obvious blown calls right at the end; instead it was a much subtler and more methodical plan by the officials to keep the Lakers going to the line and the Spurs big men in foul trouble.
And to anticipate a Laker fan's response, I don't see this as being similar to game 1 but just in reverse. In this game the Spurs were taking it to the hole and being fouled (just not called) while in game 1 the Lakers were settling for jump shots.
