Strasbourg tournament-French national team

This weekend I was with Laetitia in Strasbourg to see the French national team preparing the world Championship. Three days full of awesome plays and meeting with players.

Teams in this tournament were China, Lithuania, Senegal and France. When France didn’t play, I paid special attention to the “almost near” SPURS Javtokas!! I think it’s a good thing that he will not a Spur. OK, he has some defensive ability to help his teamates and he is very athletic for his size, but he never attacks the basket, has little ability for passing and dribbling and no real moves in the low post! He was totaly owned by Wang Zhizhi and had some trouble with the big Senegal center! He needs to gain some weight to resist against big centers like French Fred Weis, who had a huge game in rebound against Javtokas!

The French national team is a young and very athletic team. I think it’s the second most athletic team in the world just after US team! Tony PARKER and Boris DIAW are the motor of this team. Foirest is a great 3 pointer: 4/4 when China played zone defense!

Mike Pietrus can also take some 3’s, but dunking and defending too. Mike Gelabale who is my favorite on this team after Tony (of course) and Boris Diaw, is really incredible. He plays right all the time, never force a shoot or an action. Can make some 3’s and dunk on everybody!

He will play this year with the Sonics, you will see he’s awsome!!!!!

This team have some great defender Like Florent PIETRUS (brother of Mike), Diaw, Mike Pietrus, Joseph Gomis, Mamoutou DIARRA, or Fred WEIS with is size. They have also true warriors like Julian or Turiaf.

Petro (SONICS) didn’t played very well on the first game but was good against China, taking important rebound and taking great shots.
This team is young and full of skill!

When the strong defense they are almost untouchable, they are aggressive and go on fastbreak so quick, it’s showtime! TP played during this week end a lot of assists in fastbreak for halley hoop to Pietrus, Diaw or Turriaf!

TP and Diaw played very well together, they are best friends in their life and on the court we can show that. A lot of action look like a Parker-DUNCAN or Nash-Diaw action, Pick n’ roll with dunk or pick n’ roll and drive for Tony and pass to Boris for a shot!

Laetitia and me came on Saturday and Sunday morning to see player when they go to practice and take some photos with them and also talk a little bit. Everybody was fine with us.

I gave Tony a CD with all my wallpapers (SPURS CENTRAL powaaa) and he was happy to have it. He already knew part of my work. I’m really proud he has this CD right now, I just hope he will give me some feedback about it!
